Plumbo Slots

PlumboPlumbo is one of BetSoft’s slot machines, and it’s one of the more unusual ones, at least if we take a look at the theme that was chosen for it. This theme is based on a rock band from Norway, called Plumboautomaten. It’s a popular band there, singing a mix of rock and folk music, and for someone that loves how they play I’m sure a game like Plumbo will be great. It’s not as great if you have no idea who they are, so it seems to have a pretty small audience, if you’re thinking on a global level.

There are 25 paylines in this 5 reel game, where the prizes of up to $10,000 should prove decent motivators, especially since there are plenty of good features inside as well. I’m talking about the presence of wild symbols, scatters, multipliers and free spins.

Features of Plumbo

Even though it does have all the major types of features inside, with the exception of a bonus game, Plumbo only has two special symbols, a wild and a scatter.

The wild symbol is the one that you will see substituting for other symbols and hopefully getting you more winning combinations than you could obtain through regular icons. Whenever a wild is in a position on an active payline, with a few other matching regular symbols, the wild will take the same role as them and assist them in creating a new paying combo (or improving an existing one). To top things off, the wild symbol has its own 2x multiplier attached, meaning that whenever a combo is formed with its assistance, you’re going to get double the usual prize. The only symbol it can’t replace is the other special feature, the scatter.

Free Games Feature

Speaking of the scatter, the Plumbo logo will be the one you want to see as often as possible on the reels, even if they’re not on the same line. The reason is that these are scatter symbols, which award prizes solely based on the number of times they are present and not their position. Two of them will get you just a small prize, worth 50 credits, but get a minimum of three and you start winning free spins. 8 to 20 free games are winnable through the presence of three to five scatter symbols. All the wins you get during the free spins will take advantage of their 2x multiplier.

Betting options and jackpots

Plumbo takes the usual BetSoft route here, so you are allowed to use multiple coins for each payline you activate (no more than 5 coins though). With a coin denomination that goes from $0.02 to $1, and with 25 lines available, the maximum bet can go as high as $125.

Best case scenario, you can expect a 1,000x multiple of the line bet when you’re in the base game. You have two chances to add a multiplier of 2x to it though, either with the wild’s help or through the free spins. Either way, you can get to 2,000x this way, meaning a win of up to $10,000.

Design and symbols

Since it’s based on a real rock band, Plumbo takes images from a concert of Plumboautomaten and uses the pictures of its members and musical instruments for the symbols. The reels are actually placed on the stage, with instruments used underneath to support the betting options.

Symbols: Wild (wild), Band Logo (scatter, 50x), Lars Erik Blokkhus (1,000x), Tommy Elstad (500x), Hasse Ronningen (200x), Glenn Hauger (100x), Guitar (80x), Bass Guitar (60x), Drums (40x) and Flute (20x).

Is It Worth Playing?

If you’re a fan of the band, you’re obviously going to want to at least see if they’ve got it right with this slot machine. You should be at least a fan of rock music, otherwise I don’t see a big reason to play it if I just consider the features and graphics.

You will find Plumbo at any online casino which chooses to use software from BetSoft, playable either for free or for real money.
