New Slot Based On Classic TV Show Taxi To Be Released

Casino platform and software provider Leander Games have teamed up with games developer Pavilion Worldwide Group to create and release a new online slot based upon the classic American television sitcom show Taxi.

The deal came about after Pavilion signed a licensing deal with CBS Consumer Products, who hold the media rights for the show. Leander’s role in the new slot will be its construction and distribution to its online casino clients.

The new Taxi slot sees Pavilion carry on their tradition of developing licensed television products, as they have previously been involved with land based slots titles based on the television shows Dr Quinn Medicine Woman, Frasier and Rawhide.

The Slot

The new Taxi slot will feature the classic online slot configuration of 5 reels with 25 paylines.

Along with the usual landing of symbols to collect prizes, the game will also have 3 additional features.

The first feature, “flag this down”, rewards players with an Instant Prize after viewing the taxi’s from the TV show driving about.

The second feature, “make it out of the garage”, is a Free Spins Bonus which allows the gamer the chance to witness characters from the show, and if a character leaves the garage, they will turn into a Wild for the rest of the Free Spins Bonus.

The third feature, “let’s get this garage moving here”, involves the player selecting a character from the show, and if they are fortunate, they will be rewarded with a special Bonus Prize.

The Show

Airing between 1972 and 1983 in the United States, Taxi was a very popular show and can still be seen on television in syndication today.

The show featured a very talented cast of actors which included comedians Danny DeVito and Andy Kaufman, Tony Danza, and Christopher Lloyd, who would go on to find further fame by playing the character of Doc in the Back to the Future series of films.
