Cubis Slots

CubisCubis is one of those interesting games that don’t even look like they’re slot machines, and which can prove to be incredibly fun if you give them a chance. This one seems to be inspired by the Bejeweled game, something a lot of smartphone users will be familiar with. It doesn’t have the usual reels, using instead walls with jewel bricks on them, which can form combinations of up to 10 symbols. It’s quite colorful and pleasant to look at.

Cubis is one of those slots that you can’t easily put into a category, so while I can’t give you an exact number of reels, the number of paylines is 15. This Cryptologic experiment gets you a $200,000 top jackpot, with multipliers and wilds being the only big additions to its feature list.

Features of Cubis

The slot is unusual enough on its own, so you don’t miss the lack of popular features that much. It still gives you a wild with a multiplier, plus some bomb features that should prove interesting.

The Wild Dice is the biggest feature offered, and it’s also the jackpot trigger. As a wild, it can substitute for any other cube and it will apply the multiplier written on it to the payout. Each side of the dice has a different multiplier showing, starting at 1x and going up to 6x. Get 10 wild dice on the same line, and you can expect 10,000 coins in exchange.

In addition to the wild, you will also find bomb symbols appear from time to time. Each one behaves differently, so you can read more about them below.

The Line Bomb, when it appears, will shoot fireballs in four directions, at 90 degree angles to each other. The cubes that are in the path of the fireballs get destroyed, so new ones will come take their place. That gives you an extra chance at a winning combo.

The Square Bomb also destroys cubes, only its effect covers the entire wall of cubes it is present on. 25 cubes will get destroyed this way and new ones will appear in their place.

The Nuclear Bomb, the most powerful and profitable of them all, destroys all 75 cubes present on the 15 paylines. It’s basically a free re-spin and one extra shot at prizes.

Betting options and jackpots

The game might not have regular reels, but it still gets a number of paylines you can work with, which are 15 total. You can select fewer lines and use fewer coins in the process, but if you want to max out your chances you should use all 15 available. The denomination of the coins that can be used goes up to $20, so you can end up with a bet of $300.

In exchange for that kind of investment, which is considerable, you can get up to 10,000 coins back, or $200,000 at their highest value. You do need the wild dice to appear 10 times in order to get that amount, but even with regular symbols you can end up with $80,000 in your pocket.

Design and symbols

Cubis is no ordinary game. Instead of using typical 5 reels, the game uses half of a cube (2 walls and the floor), filled with jewels. It resembles a Bejeweled game, using the same type of design and with symbols disappearing when they form combinations and leaving their place for new ones to come in. Each section has 5 paylines on it, but patterns can combine up to 10 symbols, while starting at a minimum of four.

Symbols: Wild Dice (wild, 10,000x), Diamond Cube (4,000x), Green Cube (3,000x), Blue Cube (2,500x), Purple Cube (2,000x), Red Cube (1,000x), Orange Cube (1,000x) and Yellow Cube (500x).

Is It Worth Playing?

Unusual slots can be a lot of fun, and it’s definitely the case with Cubis. There are wild symbols, multipliers and multiple types of exploding bombs, an unusual layout, big prizes and it’s the kind of slot I’d be sorry to miss.

You will find Cubis at any online casino which chooses to use software from Cryptologic, playable either for free or for real money.
