Ghost Rider Slots

Ghost-RiderGhost Rider is a comic book from Marvel, and it’s one of their darker titles. The main hero is a guy that sold his soul to the Devil and his head is on fire, while he rides a motorcycle and beats up bad guys. Cryptologic designed this game under license, and if you’ve read the comic or saw one of the Ghost Rider movies, you probably know what to expect. The comic book served as inspiration for this slot, so rest assured, you don’t have to look at pictures with Nicholas Cage (he was Ghost Rider in the movie based on the comic book).

A slot machine with 5 reels designed by Cryptologic, Ghost Rider gets 25 paylines and a combination of progressive jackpots and its own payouts of up to $50,000. The game’s Marvel license is a guarantee for good design, but not for the quality of the features, which consist only in a scatter symbol, a wild and a bonus game.

Features of Ghost Rider

A bonus round, a scatter and a wild symbol are the three major additions to the Ghost Rider line-up of features. It’s not an impressive offer from Cryptologic, I’ve come to expect more from them, but at least you get the Marvel graphics in this package.

Ghost Rider himself, a skull on fire with the body dressed in black leather, acts as the wild in this case. You probably know what a wild can do, acting as a substitute whenever it appears, as long as its position allows it to take other roles and contribute to new combinations. It needs to contribute to a real combination though, so it will not work with a scattered symbol, which doesn’t require a fixed position. When the wild appears on the same line multiple times, if it’s arranged starting from the left, it will pay its own prizes. Those go from 10 coins to 10,000.

The scattered Logo symbol is responsible for certain prizes being awarded to players, its simple presence in multiple locations being sufficient for that to happen. Prizes start being awarded at 2+ scattered Logos, with the biggest one being offered for five symbols and consisting in an amount worth 100x the wager you’ve made that round.

Bonus Game

Getting scattered Logos is good for your bank account, but it’s also a way to get into the bonus game of the slot. The Ghost Rider Feature gets activated by a minimum of three Logos, which have to be present in random locations. There are 3 rounds in this bonus game, the goal being in each one to rescue people trapped in cars. Each level has three cars and you have to pick one of them.

Successful rescues will give you up to 100x the wager, and since there are three total, the potential is there for up to 300x.

Betting options and jackpots

Considering the payout you can get in Ghost Rider, the bets are not that bad, going only up to $125 for a single spin. The wager is composed of 25 coins in this case, each one valued at $5. There is the option to reduce the number of lines and the coins which are used, plus you can reduce the coin denomination as well ($0.01 is the minimum).

The game is quite generous with its prizes, one example being the 10,000 coins offered by the top jackpot combo, turning into up to $50,000. There is also the matter of the three progressive jackpots from Marvel, called Hero, Super Hero and Marvel Hero, the last one being the best paying of the lot.

Design and symbols

The Marvel inspired design is a pretty good guarantee that you’re going to have a lot of fun in this game. Using comic book style images, Ghost Rider has a flame and hell inspired background, while the images on the reels are mostly motorcycle related, or they represent his weapons or clothing choices. The fire is a big part of the game, with multiple symbols being lit up.

Symbols: Ghost Rider (wild, 10,000x), Logo (scatter, 100x the wager), Johnny Blaze (2,500x), Devil (500x), Hell’s Gate (250x), Man with Hat (250x), Motorcycle (150x), Nunchucks (150x), Yellow Crystals (125x), Glove with Spikes (125x), Book (100x) and Sign (100x).

Is It Worth Playing?

Ghost Rider is one of the more special titles that have a Marvel license, though you can just as easily call it disturbing. It pays well though, it has an average feature offer and if you’ve read the comics you know how fun they can be.

Ghost Rider, the Comic Book

With a motto that says “The Most Supernatural Superhero of All”, Ghost Rider is a comic book that is released by Marvel. Originally launched in 1972, it featured a motorcycle stuntman called Johnny Blaze that sells his soul to Satan, trying to save his father’s life this way. Whenever it’s night, or when a demon is around, the flesh of Blaze is consumed by the fire of hell, with his head turning into a flaming skull. His motorcycle is on fire as well, and he wields hellfire as a weapon. The series lasted for 11 years, until 1983.

It was restarted in 1990, at which point another character became Ghost Rider, his original name being Danny Ketch. Blaze came back as the main character in the early 2000s, and then in 2014 he left his place as Ghost Rider to Robbie Reyes.

Two movies were created with Nicholas Cage as the Ghost Rider, in both cases the character played being Johnny Blaze.

Ghost Rider can be found at any Cryptologic casino, where you get a chance to play it for real money or in free mode.
