La Fiesta Slots

La-FiestaIn a slot like La Fiesta, the graphics will not be the ones to impress you most. I suggest you look at the top jackpot instead, if you want a real reason to play it. The quality of the graphics would be the main reason why I’m not too happy with this game, as the theme choice is OK, based on the Mexican party topic. It’s not an original theme, it seems that there are plenty on the subject already, but it could’ve went a lot better.

La Fiesta’s 9 bet lines are placed on 5 reels, a configuration that’s not that common in newer titles. Designed by Cryptologic, La Fiesta has a big prize, $50,000 being up for grabs, while the features involve the scatter and the wild, plus multipliers and bonus games.

Features of La Fiesta

The scatter symbol with its prizes and bonus feature, plus the wild and its multiplier, are the two main features that La Fiesta has to offer us. It’s not exactly a feature rich game, but it does alright.

The image of the piñata serves as the slot’s most sought after symbol, the wild. While it is able to substitute for the other symbols in the game, and it also doubles all prizes that it contributes to, the main reason why I like the wild is because of the top jackpot that it can award. You can get up to 10,000 coins out of it, but only as long as it creates its own combinations, using matching wilds on the same payline.

A Red Rose, quite a romantic and classic image, has a strong connection to the Mexican or Spanish themes, and in this case you’re going to find it has a big role to play in the slot. This is a scatter symbol, capable of giving its huge prizes away while requiring only for multiple Red Roses to be present somewhere, it doesn’t matter the exact location. The prize that this feature offers is a lot bigger than in other slot machines. You can get a prize worth 500x the wager made that round, while other slots only get you 100x or 200x.

Bonus Round

Besides getting a prize from it, you also gain access to the bonus round with the Red Rose’s help. Three or more Red Roses are required, and once you have them you will go to a screen with a grid with 9 symbols on it. You get between 1 and 3 bonus rounds, with each one requiring you to make picks until you get at least three identical symbols.

Betting options and jackpots

With just 9 paylines available inside, you can expect to be asked to wager only 9 coins per spin if you want them all to be active. The coin denomination is the one that you should be modifying if you want to change the bet value, the range being $0.10 to $5. The resulting maximum bet is worth $45.

Wondering how you can get that $50,000 top prize? You need to use the highest wager available in La Fiesta, with $5 coins per line, and you need a combo of five symbols with the wild Piñata. That will get you 10,000 coins, a prize that is life changing for most people.

Design and symbols

Taken individually, the symbols that are Mexican party themed look pretty good, but there aren’t enough of them present. You will find that most of the symbols are just playing cards, plus there is a background image that is just a big wall with cracks in it. That’s no party atmosphere and overall I’d say that the slot misses the mark if it tries to be fun.

Symbols: Piñata (wild, 10,000x), Red Rose (scatter, 500x the wager), Hispanic Woman (2,500x), Trumpet (1,000x), Green & Red Musical Instruments (500x), Guitar (500x), Ace (150x), King (150x), Queen (100x), Jack (100x), Ten (100x) and Nine (100x).

Is It Worth Playing?

The top prize would be the slot’s best feature, along with the features that it brings along. It doesn’t do as well when it comes to the actual experience you’re going to get inside, or the quality of the graphics involved.

La Fiesta can be found at any Cryptologic casino, where you get a chance to play it for real money or in free mode.
