Phantom Cash Slots

Phantom-CashPhantom Cash manages to be one of the scarier slot machines to attempt this kind of theme, the reels being occupied by quite a few ghosts, and they actually look like they’re non-corporeal entities. Add the rest of the industrial and steampunk like design, and the first impression is one that you will not soon forget. It’s a slot machine designed by the guys from Microgaming, which did a fairly decent job creating this game.

You’re going to get plenty of chances to win a prize, as Phantom Cash is a slot with 25 paylines arranged on 5 reels. I’m sure that the Ghost Zap bonus game will be a favorite of yours when it triggers, along with the scatter symbol which brings it along, the two wild symbols and their multipliers. The game has a $12,500 maximum prize to offer you.

Features of Phantom Cash

As far as features go, my favorite would be the Ghost Zap feature, but in addition to it you will also discover wilds with multipliers and a scatter symbol.

Two different Ghost Catcher wilds are present in the game. The two characters which are used as their images are called Thurmingham and Carstairs. These symbols are capable of substituting for any other regular ones, so the Mansion scatter is excluded. You will find Thurmingham on the 1st reel when it makes an appearance, while Carstairs is only present on the 5th reel. Both wilds contribute to their wins with 2x multipliers, doubling their value.

The spooky Mansion symbol is the one that is used as a scatter. Its role allows it to appear anywhere on the game’s reels, and as long as there are at least three, you get the bonus game and a cash prize from it. The cash prize can be worth 2x the bet for three symbols, 25x for four and 100x for five.

Ghost Zap Bonus Game

Having 3 to 5 scattered Mansions on the reels of this game will trigger the Ghost Zap feature for you. You will notice a Ghost Meter at the top of the game area, which starts at 8 and it goes down with each ghost that you manage to capture along the way.

The two wild symbols, Thurmingham and Carstairs, will capture the ghost symbols which appear on the same row as they do, and they do it with the help of a zap weapon, with a nice little animation. For each captured ghost, you get a prize worth twice the value of the round’s bet. If you have both wilds on the same row, any ghosts captured between them will offer you 4x the bet instead of 2x.

The Ghost Zap bonus game continues with its free spins until you get the ghost meter down all the way to zero.

Betting options and jackpots

The line bet is between $0.01 and $5, being made out of 1 to 20 coins, with values of up to $0.25 each one. You’re the one that decides the number of active lines at the start of each round, but the more you wager on, the bigger your chances of getting a good prize. You can end up spending up to $125 on a single spin of the reels.

The scatter symbol is the one that awards the biggest prizes of the game, with 50,000 coins being on the line when you use the highest wager. Their value is only $12,500 though, since coins are worth $0.25.

Design and symbols

It’s got a fairly dark design, with the action taking place somewhere in an industrial district, with pipes and metal chains being everywhere around the reel area. The steampunk atmosphere is visible in the two symbols with ghost hunters as well. The only part that’s going to annoy is the use of old style playing cards. As for the ghosts, their symbols look very good, and actually ghost like, which isn’t that easy to pull off.

Is It Worth Playing?

The ghost theme is well handled, and I enjoyed the game mostly because of it, but the Ghost Zap feature had a contribution there as well. It’s one of the creepier looking slots to come with this theme, so I’d say that the developers have done their jobs well in this case.

Phantom Cash can be found at any Microgaming casino, where you get a chance to play it for real money or in free mode.
