Piggy Fortunes Slots

Piggy-FortunesThe story of the three little piggies is well known, so it’s no surprise that there are a few developers that created slot machines around it. Microgaming is one of those developers, and their attempt is called Piggy Fortunes, the slot we’re looking at right now. The story tells what happened when three pigs built houses for themselves. The first two made them out of straws or wood, and when the big bad wolf came it blew and blew, and tore them down. The third piggie made his house out of bricks, so the wolf couldn’t do anything about it. That’s exactly what we’re seeing in the game as well, in the symbols and in the special feature.

You get 25 bet lines in Piggy Fortunes, a 5 reel game that offers you a scatter symbol, a wild feature and a bonus game. Top prizes in Piggy Fortunes reach a value of $7,500.

Features of Piggy Fortunes

Two symbols have extra roles, one a wild, the other a scatter. The latter can give you access to the interesting bonus game which puts you in the middle of the story.

The Wolf is the wild element of the game. It has the ability to replace other symbols, if of course it lands in the right spot and the other matching symbols are in place already. The only symbol which the wolf can’t replace is the Piggies scatter. You don’t get additional prizes from it, but the wild has an interesting role during the bonus game.

The Piggies are present on the scatter symbol, the one that can give away prizes by simply being in enough locations on the screen. The exact spot where they land is not important, as their scatter ability allows them to form a combo anyway. You can get paid 5x to 100x the triggering bet when three to five Piggies are present in the same round.

Big Bad Wolf Feature

The scattered Piggies are also triggers for the Big Bad Wolf bonus game. As with the cash prizes, you need 3 to 5 symbols to get it started.

The bonus game is based on the story which inspired this slot machine. The appearance of the Wolf symbol next to one of the three types of houses will result in them being blown down. The wolf, acting as a wild, will also apply a multiplier of 2x to 4x at that point.

If 3+ scattered Piggies make appearances during this feature, they rebuilt the houses that were blown down, extending the feature. The bonus game ends once the houses are all blown down.

Betting options and jackpots

The complete betting range of Piggy Fortunes is between $0.25 and $75. You are asked to cover all the paylines with your wager, but since the line bet can be as low as $0.01, that’s not really a problem. Each line wager is composed out of 1 to 15 coins, while their denominations go from $0.01 to $0.20. The line bet doesn’t go higher than $3.

The slot’s top payouts come from the scatter symbol, which will give you 100 times the triggering bet, so up to $7,500. Regular symbols offer up to 900x the line bet, meaning only $2,700.

Design and symbols

The design in Piggy Fortunes is 3D and it looks like it was computer made. The symbols are a mix of houses and the main characters, with the very ugly playing cards also present. An image with green meadows and trees is placed behind the game area. It’s a good looking slot machine, one which I wouldn’t mind playing again, but it could’ve been so much better without those pesky cards present.

Is It Worth Playing?

It’s not the best slot built with this theme, other developers did a better job with the visuals. It doesn’t pay a lot of money either, but the Big Bad Wolf feature is quite good. Overall though, I’d say it’s not really worth playing more than to satisfy your curiosity.

Piggy Fortunes can be found at any Microgaming casino, where you get a chance to play it for real money or in free mode.
