Sterling Silver Slots

Sterling-SilverSterling Silver is one of the few slot machines which use the second most popular precious metal as inspiration. While gold gets most of the love from slots these days, a couple of silver themed games are also on the market. Now, while silver should be a big part of the focus in this game, there is perhaps a bit too much of it, to the point where all the symbols are made out of this metal and there is way too little variety when it comes to the graphics.

Sterling Silver awards top payouts of $25,000, where you have to wager on up to 25 bet lines to get that kind of prize. You’re also going to find that on its 5 reels will appear stacked wilds and scatters, the latter being the trigger for the free spins, while the former apply random multipliers of up to 10x.

Features of Sterling Silver

The game tries to be different feature wise, using stacked wilds instead of regular ones, with random multipliers applied which go as high as 10x. Next, you have the scatter symbol, the trigger for the free spins.

The stacked wild is one of the most important features of Sterling Silver. It has the game’s logo to represent it, and you will see anywhere between one and three wilds on the same reel in the same round. Whenever you see it substitute for another symbol, with the result being the formation of a new combo, you’re also going to benefit from a random multiplier. The multiplier value can be anywhere between 2x and 10x, so you can get huge prizes with its help. Since the wilds are stacked, you not only get big multipliers, you also get much better chances of seeing them in action.

As for the scatter, it’s the Silver Coin and it is reserved for the three reels from the middle (2, 3 and 4). While it’s limited to these reels, it doesn’t matter where exactly the symbols appear on them. You just need all three to be present, and you will receive a prize worth 10x the bet, plus the free spins.

Free Games Feature

The same three scatters needed for the 10x prize are used to trigger 15 free spins as well. You get random wild multipliers awarded as you use these free spins. You also have the chance to trigger the feature again.

Betting options and jackpots

Sterling Silver can have up to 25 active bet lines, meaning that you have to use at least that many coins in your wager if you want them all. You can also increase that line wager, all the way up to 250 coins, with 10 coins per line. Another way to vary the bet is by using a different denomination, the minimum being at $0.01, while the maximum is at $0.25. If you want to max everything out, you can end up with $2.50 line bets and $62.50 total bets.

Normal combinations of five symbols can give you up to 1,000x back, or 10,000 coins. With the highest possible multiplier of the wild helping out, it can go up to 10,000x, or 100,000 coins. The value would be up to $25,000 in this case.

Design and symbols

I will say this about the design, the individual symbols and design elements are very well made. However, there is so much silver in each one, that the game appears to be too simple and single minded in its approach. Each symbol has cogs and wheels in it when the playing cards are involved, while the regular ones mostly have silver bars of some kind. There is a bit of a steampunk style to the design, which you will probably enjoy.

Symbols: Sterling Silver Logo (wild), Silver Coin (scatter), Three Silver Bars (1,000x), One Silver Bar (500x), Silver Ace (300x), Silver King (200x), Silver Queen (200x), Silver Jack (100x), Silver Ten (100x) and Silver Nine (100x).

Is It Worth Playing?

I love those big multipliers that come with the wild, but without them the prizes are far from impressive, plus the design uses way too much of the silver color. I wouldn’t go for it, but in a lot of ways it’s a decent slot machine which deserves a chance.

This Sterling Silver slot is offered by all online casinos with Microgaming software, playable either in practice or in real money mode.
