Bank Bandit Slots

Bank-BanditBank Bandit is a bank robbery themed slot machine, which was designed by the guys from Nuworks. It’s a theme which is far from rare, being used by quite a few slot developers already. Despite the fact that so many developers have approached it already, it doesn’t feel like it’s gotten old. You can still enjoy Bank Bandit, with everything it offers, including its features and the random jackpots.

5 reels are used by Bank Bandit, and they are hosts for 25 bet lines. There are some very cool features inside, especially the stacked wilds which combine multipliers and give you up to 9x the usual prizes, but also the scatters and the free spins. Winning up to $9,000 is possible in the base game.

Features of Bank Bandit

The features of Bank Bandit are part of the reason why I like the game, as it offers stacked wilds with up to 9x multipliers, scatter symbols, free games and the bonus games which trigger them.

One of the more interesting symbols of Bank Bandit would be the one that shows the actual Robber. He’s carrying a bag of money and he’s shushing you in the picture. This is a stacked wild, which can appear only on the 2nd and 4th reels. From there, it can only substitute for other symbols, without actually forming its own combinations. Considering that these wilds also apply 1x to 3x multipliers when they are part of a combo, it’s not a big problem that they don’t have their own payouts to give away. Together, when part of the same combo, they can give up to 9x multipliers for that particular win.

The Vault is going to be seen in various positions around the reels, and even without being on an active line it’s still going to be a profitable symbol. The presence of two to five Vault scatters during the same spin gets you payouts of 1x to 200x the wager.

Robber Feature

During the base game, if you get the wild symbol on both the 2nd and the 4th reels, while a Vault scatter is on the 3rd reel, then you will get the Robber Feature. It consists of 20 free spins, which have wilds that apply multipliers between 2x and 4x each time they are used. With two wilds being part of the same combo, and with the maximum multiplier applied by both, you can get up to 16x the usual prize.

It is a feature which can be retriggered. Vault scatters are only present on the 3rd reel during free spins.

Vault Feature

The second feature of Bank Bandit is started by a minimum of three Vault scatters, present in any position on the reels. You are asked to choose one of those symbols next, and you will be shown a number between 5 and 15, which will be the free spins you get.

Multipliers increase together with the number of free spins, so while the first spin gets 1x, the second one gets 2x, the third one 3x, and so on, up to 15x. These free spins don’t have any Vault scatters on their reels, so you can’t retrigger them.

Betting options and jackpots

Given the number of paylines, 25, you need to use a wager with just as many coins to activate them all. You can’t use more coins than this, but you can select fewer lines and the requirement would be smaller in that case. The coins start at just $0.01, so it can be very cheap, and they can go up to $1, which would make it a moderately expensive slot at best. $25 is the value of the biggest wager.

Payouts of 1,000 coins are offered in the base game, but with the wilds helping out with 9x multipliers, they can reach 9,000 coins/$9,000. Multipliers of up to 16x are offered during free spins, so the top payout can get even higher during the special features.

Design and symbols

The game has some things in its design which are expected and appreciated, but there are some that don’t contribute much to the experience. The bank vault with its treasure is seen in the background, and then there are the themed symbols, which are well designed and quite appropriate for the theme. The non-themed symbols would be the poker cards, which have a glitter like quality, and which I haven’t enjoyed seeing. The reels have all black backgrounds which take a bit too much of the space.

Symbols: Robber (wild), Vault (scatter, 200x total bet), Bank (1,000 coins), Cashier (750 coins), Guard (500 coins), Deposit Box (250 coins), Money Bag (250 coins), Ace (150 coins), King (150 coins), Queen (150 coins), Jack (100 coins), 10 (100 coins) and 9 (100 coins).

Is It Worth Playing?

Slots with this kind of theme are often available, so it’s not a good enough reason to play it. The payouts are also on the small side unless multipliers get involved. The features are the ones that are truly great, but unfortunately the prizes have been decreased to make up for them.

You will find Bank Bandit at any online casino which chooses to use software from NuWorks, playable either for free or for real money.
