Captain’s Treasure Pro Slots

Captain's-Treasure-ProCaptain’s Treasure Pro is the second pirate themed slot machine from Playtech, with the same main character appearing in it, the famous Blackbeard. The graphics have improved considerably in the second game, but I still wouldn’t call it one of the best of the industry. There are more paylines, better top prizes and more features, so the game should be a lot more fun, though it will also be more expensive to play on. The improved graphics are a huge point in its favor, at least the first impression is a better one.

There are a total of 20 bet lines in Captain’s Treasure Pros, with 5 reels being their support during each spin. Playtech added a free games round that has mystery scatters, regular scatter symbols, wilds and payouts of $100,000.

Features of Captain’s Treasure Pro

The game’s feature will offer you the usual wilds and scatter symbols combined into one, plus a round of free spins with another mystery scatter. It’s better than what the first Captain’s Treasure title offered, but still not quite as good as many of its direct competitors.

One of the most unusual things about this slot machine is its use of scatter and wild abilities in a single symbol. Instead of getting two different symbols, you only get one, represented by a Treasure Chest sitting on a pile of gold coins. It’s a good image to use in a pirate themed slot machine. In its wild role, this symbol will act as another symbol, as long as that will result in a new winning combo being formed. For that to happen, you need a few other matching symbols to be already in place, with just one symbol missing, in the spot where the wild is located. The wild will take that role, if the requirements are met, so you get paid a prize that otherwise wouldn’t have been possible.

The scatter ability of this symbol comes into play when he’s on the reels at least three times, in which case you get a cash prize as well, plus access to free spins. The cash prize varies between 2x and 200x the bet of the round, depending on how many Treasure Chests are present (a maximum of five possible).

Free Games Feature

3+ Treasure Chests appearing on the reels during the same round will give you 10 free spins, plus a Mystery Scatter symbol. This extra scatter is revealed, and that symbol will be used for the duration of the free games. You can retrigger this feature, and it will be easier since you have more scatter symbols to rely on.

Betting options and jackpots

This game is much more expensive than its predecessor, but it also has more chances to win/paylines and better prizes. You can end up spending up to $400 per round here, with 20 lines each getting up to 10 coins of $2. The coins can be as small as $0.01 though, plus you can use only 1 coin per line, so the bets can also be much smaller.

The 5,000x prize on the line in this game can mean $100,000 for the player that gets it.

Design and symbols

There are some things that have improved considerably in the Pro version of Captain’s Treasure, but there is at least one area where things aren’t better. I’m talking about the playing cards, which seem even less themed around the pirate topic than before. The rest of the images and graphics selected for this game look better, with symbols generally having a lot more details in them. The logo area has as a background barrels filled to the brim with gold, a good choice for this game.

Symbols: Treasure Chest (wild/scatter, 200x triggering bet), Blackbeard (5,000x), Parrot (2,000x), Pirate Ship (750x), Cannon (750x), Ace (150x), King (150x), Queen (100x), Jack (100x) and Ten (100x).

Is It Worth Playing?

It’s a better looking game than its predecessor, it gives you better prizes and more chances to get them, so I’d say go with the Pro version if you’re looking at both of them. As far as pirate themed slots go, there are a lot of options out there which look better.

This Captain’s Treasure Pro slot is offered by all online casinos with Playtech software, playable either in practice or in real money mode.
