Golden Tour Slots

Golden-TourGolden Tour is one of quite a few golf themed slot machines, and it’s also created by Playtech, one of the industry’s most well known companies. The golf theme doesn’t usually make for a great looking game, not sure why the developers can’t get it right, but in this case I’d say it’s at least a decent looking title. The golf course is visible behind the reels, while on them you get all the elements that can be part of a great game.

Golden Tour might have 5 reels, but it keeps the payline number to a minimum, so you get only 5 of them to bet on. It is a Playtech slot machine, which includes bonus games and wild symbols among its features. The prizes will get you either $2,000 or a progressive jackpot.

Features of Golden Tour

The features are somewhat unusual, but not that great to be honest. The wild symbol is one example, limited to working with just two other symbols, while the scatters will give you only a bonus game.

The wild symbol is represented by one of the three golf balls that you can get on the reels. The golden balls icon, the one that gives you the biggest prize available, also can be used as a substitute for the blue or the orange golf balls. A bonus is the fact that the combinations with wilds in them can pay both ways on the same line. On its own, the wild is going to award the top jackpot, a 2,000x multiple. I would’ve preferred a wild that can substitute for all regular symbols, not just for two of them, but at least it can do it for the ones that pay the most.

Bonus Game

The second feature relies on the appearance of three scatter symbols, at the same time. These have to be identical scatter symbols, which is important to mention because there are three types of scatters that all do the same thing. The fact that they used three different ones just makes the bonus game much more difficult to trigger. It’s a simple picking game, where your choice gets you a prize, without entertaining you in any way though.

Betting options and jackpots

Each of the 5 paylines provided inside get a wager of $1, so you end up with up to $5 bets. The coin denomination is fixed and you can only use one for each line, so the only choice left up to the player is on the number of active paylines (which gets you the $1 to $5 betting range).

The progressive jackpot is the one offered by Dollar Ball, with $1 bets required during each round to activate it. If this feature doesn’t give you the big prize, you can still get the slot’s own $2,000.

Design and symbols

Being a golf themed game, you can expect for all the symbols to be based on it, with golf balls, golf carts, flags and all sorts of other objects and creatures that might belong on a golf course or nearby. It’s not the kind of impressive slot machine that developers have been creating in the last couple of years, so I imagine it probably has a few years behind it already. It’s a good choice if you’re a fan of the sport.

Symbols: Double Golf Balls (wild, 2,000 coins), Gopher (scatter), Catfish (scatter), Duck (scatter), Blue Golf Ball (1,000 coins), Orange Golf Ball (500 coins), Golf Cart (250 coins), Golf Clubs (200 coins), Flag Marker (150 coins), Golf Gloves (100 coins) and Golf Shoes (50 coins).

Is It Worth Playing?

For a golf fan, Golden Tour would be one of the better slots to try out, especially since there isn’t much of a competition on this topic. It’s cheap to play, so most people should be able to afford it.

The Golden Tour slot machine is offered through the Playtech platform, so if you want to play it for real or just to practice, look out for casinos that use it.
