Rome and Glory Slots

Rome-&amp-GloryRome and Glory is a game that was designed by Playtech. Its Roman Empire theme is not a surprise, as the title gives it away quite easily, while its design seems to manage to be just as indicative of what’s going on. It’s not the sort of game where you don’t know what’s coming, the symbols are clearly Roman inspired, with the flag of the Roman legions being one example, while the image of Caesar wearing his crown is another. The Roman Empire has inspired a lot of developers, so this is far from being the only slot with this kind of design.

You can see what Rome is all about on the 20 paylines of this 5 reel slot, a game that has all kinds of cool features, including free games, scatter symbols and wilds. You will get up to $100,000 from the slot’s best symbols.

Features of Rome and Glory

This is one of those games where you get a single symbol that does everything. The same Coliseum symbol is both the scatter and the wild, also triggering free spins.

While used as the wild, the Coliseum symbol can substitute for others, helping them get their own combinations going, but it doesn’t have to form regular combinations on the reels. The reason for it is the scatter ability, which it also holds.

As a scatter, what you can expect from this symbol is a prize and free spins, both being triggered at 3+ symbols in random positions. You might get only 2x the bet for three scatters, but it goes to 20x for four and to 200x for five.

Free Games Feature

When you get a prize from the scatter, you also get free spins. The requirement is the same, for 3+ Coliseums to be present on the reels. You get 10 spins for free in exchange, with a Mystery Scatter on top. This is basically an additional scatter symbol, which uses one of the regular symbols, picked at random.

The Mystery Scatter can help you get prizes or it can act as a wild or as a retrigger for the free spins. This is in addition to the regular scatter symbol.

Betting options and jackpots

As is often the case with Playtech’s slots, you can modify everything about the bets, from the denomination of their coins ($0.01 – $2), to how many should be used for each bet line (between 1 and 10) and the total number of active lines (up to 20). Those that can afford it can max out every option, which will get them a bet of up to $400 for one spin, with $20 being the line bet.

A 5,000x multiplier awaits the player that gets the best possible combination in the game, which depending on the actual wager that was placed could mean as much as $100,000 cash. The line bet is taken into account here, so even if some paylines are not selected, you still get the most out of the slot if the line wager was at the maximum level.

Design and symbols

The designers did a good job when they created this game. The marble columns and the surrounding graphics feel like they are indeed taken from Ancient Rome, with the same marble like appearance being used for the betting options. The symbols are very well designed, lots of small details used in most of them, so they look very good even when they’re the kind that you see in a lot of slots (the bag of gold or the grape). Overall, one of the more enjoyable Rome themed slot machines I’ve seen so far.

Symbols: Coliseum (wild/scatter, 200x the bet), Caesar (5,000x), Roman Lady (2,000x), Golden Eagle (750x), Chariot (750x), Horn (150x), Grape (150x), Gold Coins Bag (100x), Wine Cup (100x) and Paper Scroll (100x).
