Zhao Cai Jin Bao Slots

Zhao-Cai-Jin-BaoA slot machine which is themed around a Chinese Emperor, Zhao Cai Jin Bao promises you an interesting experience. It’s one of the Playtech slot machines, but not the only one they offer with a Chinese inspiration. It does seem to be better thought out though, with a gorgeous design and with every element being decorated to look like it was good enough to be used in the Emperor’s palace.

Despite the gorgeous design, the game feels like a simple option, in part because of the use of only 9 paylines on its 5 reels. As features, you will discover that it has wilds, multipliers and scatters. Its top payout reaches a value of $500,000.

Features of Zhao Cai Jin Bao

First, we have the wild symbol, with the Emperor being present on some of the reels and using a multiplier. Next, the scatter symbol, which offers you prizes, and that’s about it.

One of the features in this case is the ability that the symbols have, to pay both from right to left and left to right. It’s a bit easier to form a combo and get paid this way and I wish a lot more slots would offer this option.

The Emperor is the one that acts as the wild symbol in this game. Present on only three reels, it makes up for it by applying 2x multipliers to the wins which are awarded with its contribution. The reels on which it can show up are the 2nd, 3rd and 4th ones. There are no payouts offered by the wild, since it is not able to form its own combos.

The Gold Crown scatter symbol is used only as a trigger for a cash prize, nothing else. There are no free spins or bonus games in this slot, so you can only expect payouts which vary between 1x and 100x what the wager was that round. Between two and five scatters will trigger these prizes. One thing I don’t like about this scatter is that the symbols need to be on consecutive reels, but at least they can go in both directions (from left and from the right).

Betting options and jackpots

The game might have only 9 paylines for you to use, but each coin that you use to activate one of them can have a value of up to $100. That’s how the maximum wager goes up to $900, even though there are so few lines in this game. The minimum line bet is at only $0.01 though, so you’re not forced to wager big if you don’t want to.

The game has payouts of up to 5,000x to give you, with the wild being capable of doubling that amount. In theory, prizes as high as $1,000,000 could be offered if the right conditions are met.

Design and symbols

The quality of the design makes up in part for the limited number of features which are available in this slot. You can see it even in the playing cards, some of the best such symbols I’ve seen so far. There are 10 regular symbols and 2 with special roles. A dark orange abstract image is visible behind the reels, showing some kind of mountain scene by the looks of it.

Symbols: Emperor (wild), Gold Crown (100x bet, scatter), Gold Lion (5,000 coins), Dragon (2,500 coins), Gold Peacock (1,000 coins), Koi Fish (1,000 coins), Ace (500 coins), King (300 coins), Queen (200 coins), Jack (200 coins), 10 (100 coins) and the 9 (100 coins).

Is It Worth Playing?

It’s a different kind of Chinese slot machine, and thanks to its superb graphics I recommend you at least take a look at it. Its small number of lines would be its main disadvantage.

Zhao Cai Jin Bao can be found at any Playtech casino, where you get a chance to play it for real money or in free mode.
