Star Jewels Slots

Star-JewelsStar Jewels doesn’t seem to want to be terribly original with its design and theme choice, being inspired by gemstones and by space, two rather common choices among developers from all companies. Here, you have reels which have the Universe as the backdrop, but which are populated with poker cards and with gemstones of different colors. It’s not an original choice that Rival Gaming went with here, and the result is not great.

The action in Star Jewels takes place on 5 reels, which have a maximum of 10 active lines on them. There are also sticky and expanding wilds, plus re-spins. The top payout will offer the player only $5,000.

Features of Star Jewels

The one thing about Star Jewels that I enjoyed was the feature list, as it provides you with things that are not very common in this form, not in most slot machines anyway. I’m talking about an expanding wild that can become sticky, and about re-spins that may be triggered.

An expanding wild is easy to spot in this case, since it will take over the entire reel and it has the word Wild written repeatedly on it. It’s a symbol which is reserved for only two reels out of five, the 1st and the 3rd, so it’s not as useful as in other slot machines. Expanding wilds are capable of taking over the entire reel when they appear, but they do this only if you get a new combo out of it.

Wild symbols are also sticky, meaning that they remain in place for one free re-spin, while the other reels will spin for free. Getting other sticky wilds to appear at that point will trigger another re-spin for free.

Betting options and jackpots

You can modify a bet by changing either the number of coins per line (going from 1 to 5), or the denomination ($0.01 to $1). You can get to a maximum bet of $5 per line this way, or $50 total for 10 lines.

The rewards offered by the game give you up to 1,000x the line bet, for five Diamond symbols. The cash value would go up to $5,000.

Design and symbols

As I’ve said, there is nothing to be impressed with in this game. You have the Universe in the background picture, which does look good, but on the reels the symbols give you six playing cards, eight gemstones of various colors and one wild. Overall, it’s hard to be impressed with the offer that Star Jewels has for its players.

Is It Worth Playing?

I’m not impressed with the theme choice, the prizes or the design of Star Jewels, but I did enjoy the features. It’s probably not enough to warrant a lot of attention though.

This Star Jewels slot is offered by all online casinos with Rival software, playable either in practice or in real money mode.
