Western Wildness Slots

Western-WildnessWestern Wildness is a slot machine with a Wild West theme, a typical game of this sort, where there are sheriffs, bank robbers, cowboys and all sorts of objects that one would’ve seen if they went back in time to that era. The Wild West theme has been approached plenty of times before, both seriously and with a humorous side to it. The latter is the one that has been used here, at least if you look at a couple of images appearing on its reels.

The game’s 5 reels have as many as 20 win lines on them, while the symbols will come with wilds and scatters among them, triggering bonus games and free spins, plus some interesting multipliers. A $2,500 top prize is winnable in it.

Features of Western Wildness

You get plenty of chances to have fun with Western Wildness, at least if you find features to be more fun than the base game. There is a bonus round, there are expanding wilds, free spins, scatter symbols and multipliers.

The expanding wild gets the main role, mostly because it has a multiplier as well to offer. Any prize that the wild symbol helps out with will offer twice the usual payout. It’s a good thing too, especially since the wild expands to cover the reel if that gets you a new winning combo. The wild achieves this by taking the place of a regular symbol which is needed on the reel that it is on. It expands to cover the reel if necessary.

Free Games Feature

The Shotgun scatter symbol is possibly just as cool to get as the expanding wild, though it’s going to be a much rarer feature to trigger. The reason is that a few of these symbols can get you access to 10 to 100 spins for free. The 100 spins are offered when five Shotguns are scattered on the reels, while four of them bring 20 spins and three will trigger only 10 spins. The free spins all get the 3x multiplier, so they are worth three times the usual amount.

The second scatter symbol would be the Steer Skull. Once again, you need 3 or more to get something started. Their position doesn’t matter, they are scatters, but you still need that minimum number of symbols.

Once the feature starts, you get six chances to get prizes. The six shots you can take at the various bottles will get you prizes each time you hit something. You can get Money Bags from them, and that resets the bottles, or you can get Ammo Boxes, and that will reload the gun.

Betting options and jackpots

The slot’s 20 bet lines can all be activated, or you can use only a few of them when you spin the reels. If you want to activate them all, each one has to get at least one coin in your wagers. You can select up to 10 coins per line, with 200 coins being the most you can spend each round. As for the value of those coins, they go from $0.01 to $0.25, so you can end up with $2.50 line bets, or $50 total bets.

A 1,000x jackpot is going to give you up to 10,000 coins, or $2,500, with the right coin denomination.

Design and symbols

Though you can see the Wild West desert in the distance, complete with a couple of cactus plants, the action seems to be taking place mostly in a saloon. There is wood all around the reels, there are bottles used as payline numbers on shelves placed on both sides, and the Spin button takes the place of a barrel. The drawing done for the symbols is somewhat on the funny side, a couple of characters being easy to characterize that way because of the way they look.

Symbols: Wagon Wheel (wild), Steer Skull (bonus), Shotgun (scatter), Strong Box (500x), Sheriff (300x), Western Woman (250x), Cowboy Boots (200x), Money Bag (125x), Ammo Box (100x), Villain (75x), Sheriff’s Badge (60x) and Horseshoe (60x).

Is It Worth Playing?

It’s a decent Wild West slot machine, but it’s far from being the best looking one, and it definitely doesn’t pay enough to be among the best. You will find plenty of other slots that are similar and which do a better job at covering the Wild West theme.

The Western Wildness slot machine is offered through the Rival platform, so if you want to play it for real or just to practice, look out for casinos that use it.
