Overdrive is one of the classic titles in Saucify’s collection of slot machines. It’s obviously a car racing inspired game, which surprisingly enough has only symbols which are connected to the theme, and it also manages to scrounge up a rather basic feature to give its players. Features of Overdrive
A single feature was introduced in Overdrive, a wild symbol which is represented on the reels by the image of the Red Racing Car. This symbol will form combinations directly, on one of the three paylines, and will pay between 1,500 and 7,000 coins when it manages this. The bigger amounts are offered for the win forming on one of the later lines.
The thing that the wild will be usually used for will be its power to substitute for another symbol. When a wild appears with two matching icons on a line, or two wilds with one regular icon, a combination will form and you will get paid.
Betting options and jackpots
You have only 3 lines to play on, and you will have to use just as many coins to get them all active. Each coin has a maximum value of $1, with a minimum of $0.01. What you end up with is a $3 maximum bet.
Get the three Racing Car wilds on the 3rd line, and your reward will be worth 7,000 coins/$7,000. With a 2nd line top jackpot, you are offered 3,500 coins. The 1st line jackpot pays the least, only 1,500 coins.
Design and symbols
One of the things I enjoyed about the design of Overdrive is the dedication to the theme, which is better than in the vast majority of the classic slots I’ve seen so far. There are no symbols with fruits or other classic images on them, only things which are car, racing or fan related. The background features a rather abstract design, mixing yellows and greens.
Symbols: Racing Car (7,000 coins, wild), Trophy (500 coins), Tire (150 coins), Tool (50 coins) and Hot Dog (25 coins).
Is It Worth Playing?
The game seems to be designed with the fan of Nascar racing in mind, at least the ones that also prefer classic slot machines. A modern variant of the game exists as well.
