Wolf Run Slots

Wolf-RunWolf Run is the second slot machine designed by IGT that has a Native American and wolf themed focus, so it feels like it’s part of a series, but you don’t see the improvements and changes that would warrant such a description. It is a different game though, with somewhat changed symbols and with features that were modified as well. Overall, it’s not easy to see the differences though, as they are quite similar.

In Wolf Run, the 5 reels are host to up to 40 paylines, free games, scatter symbols and stacked wilds. Prizes are a bit better than they are in the other version of the game, with $5,000 being its top jackpot.

Features of Wolf Run

With stacked wild symbols, scatters and free spins, Wolf Run does a decent job at trying to keep its players happy, even though it doesn’t excel in most of the other areas.

The stacked wild is clearly the most fun part of the game, as it has the ability to cover 1 to 4 positions on a reel, when it does appear. Since it has such a large role in the game, and it can substitute for multiple combinations at the same time, the prizes tend to be on the small side, but at least you should be getting plenty of chances to make money. You’re not going to find a wild acting as a substitute for a scatter symbol, but otherwise it works every single time with regular ones.

Just like in the other game about wolves from IGT, the scatter symbol is represented by a Dreamcatcher image, with Bonus written in front. This scatter gets to appear on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th reels only. The three scatters need to be present at the same time, in order for a payout worth 2x the bet to be awarded.

Free Games Feature

In addition to that small prize, you will also get a bonus feature with free spins, with the same 3 scatters being the requirement for them. This feature has 5 free spins, which get additional wild and scatter symbols, so there is an increased chance to get the top jackpot or winning combinations in general. You also get a decent chance to retrigger the free spins.

Betting options and jackpots

Bets of $1 to $5 per payline are allowed in Wolf Run, with the 40 lines taking the bets up to $200. Selecting a smaller number of paylines is possible, the decision being left up to the player.

The best reward you can expect from Wolf Run is worth 1,000 times your line wager, meaning $1,000 to $5,000. There are quite a few paylines to bet on, so it’s not a huge return for your investment, but you at least get just as many chances to get a winning combo.

Design and symbols

The design of Wolf Run keeps the same Native American inspired theme, with the wolf spirit being at its basis. You get the Wolf totem and multiple symbols with this predator in them. The result is a nature themed slot that you will enjoy because it is wild and dangerous looking. The same Native American theme can be seen in the logo area, with its feathers and paw prints that are part of the title.

Symbols: Howling Wolf (wild, 1,000x), Dreamcatcher Bonus (scatter), Black Wolf (400x), White Wolf (400x), Wolf Totem (250x), Wolf Statue (250x), Ace (150x), King (150x), Queen (100x), Jack (100x), 10 (100x) and 9 (100x).

Is It Worth Playing?

It’s a better choice than the other wolf themed game from IGT, but not by a lot. Its prizes have gotten a little better, but it’s not a slot I would recommend if you’re not a fan of wolves or Native Americans in particular.

The Wolf Run slot machine is offered through the IGT platform, so if you want to play it for real or just to practice, look out for casinos that use it.
