Dogfather Slots

DogfatherIn Dogfather you get a mob themed game where the main characters are dogs. They’re dressed just like humans would be, they look dangerous and together they make for a great slot machine experience. The mafia theme has been approached before, many times in fact, but I haven’t seen one so far where dogs are the gangsters. Microgaming did a great job on this game, as you will discover yourself as soon as it first loads.

Dogfather is a 5 reel slot machine, which offers 20 line wagers and payouts of $32,500. You also take advantage of some nice features, the bonus game being a good one, though the free spins with multipliers are also favorites. Add some scatters and wilds for good measure, and you get the idea.

Features of Dogfather

From the scatter symbol with Itchy da Flea on it, the Dogfather wild, or the Hydrant scatter, there are plenty of cool symbols that make appearances and have an extra role in the game. Add to that the bonus games and free spins that they will trigger, and you get the idea.

Dogfather is a bulldog in a blue suit, with a cigar in the corner of his mouth. He does look like a godfather figure, and he is both the one to offer the slot’s biggest prizes, and the wild symbol. In its first role, it will give you up to 13,000x the line bet, which is very generous for a slot machine. As the wild, this symbol is going to act as the substitute for any regular symbol that is needed in the exact location where Dogfather appeared. Hopefully, that will result in a new combo for the player. The wild can only replace a regular symbol, so no scatters or bonus symbols.

Free Games Feature

The scatter symbols can do two things for you. The first one would be the symbol with Itchy da Flea on it, a scatter that gives you prizes and free spins. Both types of prizes need a minimum of three scattered symbols in random positions. The cash prizes are between 5x and 100x the bet, while the free spins are 13 total, with 3x multipliers for the wins you get from them.

Mark Your Territory Bonus Game

The slot’s only bonus game has its own scatter symbol to trigger it, and it’s quite appropriately an image with a fire hydrant. The bonus game will have different payouts, depending on the number of triggering icons. Up to 5,300 coins can be awarded by it.

Betting options and jackpots

You can spread your bet on the slot’s 20 lines, and you can use up to 5 coins for each one. The total reaches 100 coins, with denominations between $0.01 and $0.50. That means a maximum bet of $50, with the line bet at $2.50.

What Dogfather promises is a very impressive 13,000x jackpot, which is way above average. It’s the equivalent of $32,500, a good prize for the kind of bet you can make here.

Design and symbols

The mob theme works very well for this game. There are a lot of tough dogs on the reels of this slot, along with their cigars, revolvers or other weapons. There are also all sorts of mobster dogs, though at least one of the characters is a flea. It’s quite a bit better than most slot machines that approach the same theme, both because of the theme choice and because of the way they implemented it.

Is It Worth Playing?

It’s a very generous game, with pretty graphics and a good spread of features. I see no reason to avoid this game, it’s definitely a good one, especially among mafia themed slots.

You will find Dogfather at any online casino which chooses to use software from Microgaming, playable either for free or for real money.
