Daredevil Slots

DaredevilDaredevil is a Playtech slot machine, built in collaboration and under official license from Marvel, the creator of the comic book with the same name. Daredevil is a blind superhero, the only one that I know of, which uses his powers to guide him in the real world, using a sonar like ability to replace his vision. He fights villains, as any self-respecting superhero will, but what makes him special is that he does this without being able to see. It’s a good topic for a slot machine, especially since Marvel’s work has quite a few fans out there.

Daredevil gives you 5 reels and up to 20 bet lines on them. There is at least one feature I haven’t seen before (Bullseye), plus free spins with random wilds, scatter symbols and regular wilds. The biggest prize offered is worth $250,000, while Marvel contributes with its own set of progressive jackpots.

Features of Daredevil

The Interactive Bullseye feature is a big part of the attraction of the game, together with the progressive jackpots won through a random bonus game, free spins and random wilds.

Daredevil, with his red suit and tiny horns that make him look like the real thing, will substitute for all the other regular symbols, if it can assist them with the formation of a combination. On its own, the wild symbol can only give prizes if a minimum of two Daredevils are on an active payline. When that happens, payouts of up to 5,000x are awarded.

The DD Logo gets a good role as well, used as a scatter feature capable of triggering the free spins and of giving you payouts of up to 100 times the bet. The appearance of the scatter symbols can be in any random location, as long as there are enough of them present. A minimum of two are needed to get a prize, with five for the largest value.

Free Games Feature

The free spins get triggered when 3+ scattered Logos appear during the same spin. After each spin, the sonar like ability of Daredevil will activate, the result being that a few new symbols will become wilds. You can get anywhere between 0 and 3 extra wilds at random, during each spin.

Bullseye Feature

Before each spin begins, you are asked to place a bullseye target on one of the 15 symbols. The reels will spin next, and if the Villain character is behind the bullseye, you get a small prize, the equivalent of 3x the total bet. If you don’t move the bullseye target, it will stay in the same place for the rest of the spins.

Betting options and jackpots

Daredevil has quite the betting range, going from $0.01 to $1,000, allowing pretty much everyone to spin its reels and maybe get some prizes, though they will be sized accordingly. Each line can receive a maximum of 10 coins, where their value is up to $5, so up to $50 per line.

The biggest prize will get you 50,000 coins, or 5,000x, which will mean up to $250,000.

Design and symbols

Though you would expect it from a slot machine designed under Marvel’s supervision, this is far from being a great looking title. I’ve seen quite a few comic book themed slots out there, many also from Marvel, which looked a lot better than this one does. The character related symbols and the objects tend to look very good, but the playing cards are identical and the color from the background of the reels is the same as well, so it could’ve used a bit more work in these areas.

Symbols: Daredevil (wild, 5,000x), Logo (scatter, 100x the triggering bet), Electra (1,000x), Kingpin (750x), Bullseye (500x), Nunchucks (250x), Sai (250x), Ace (120x), King (120x), Queen (100x), Jack (100x), Ten (75x) and Nine (75x).

Is It Worth Playing?

With the exception of a couple elements from the design, Daredevil is a great slot, as you would expect from something created with Marvel’s supervision. It certainly has the prizes that can inspire you, plus a healthy collection of features to keep you busy if you choose to play it.

Daredevil, the Comic Book

Daredevil is the name of one of the superheroes from Marvel’s comic books. It’s a blind character, which is highly unusual for a super hero, whose powers came from the same toxic substance that made him go blind while still a child. The improved senses allow him to function even better than most humans do, plus he can fight villains wherever he finds them. His motivation is revenge for the murder of his father, so he takes on gangs and evil guys all the time.

The comic book was the original medium for this character, but he was also part of movies (in 2003), in TV series, video games and even slot machines, as you can see.

You will find Daredevil at any online casino which chooses to use software from Playtech, playable either for free or for real money.
