Sunken Treasure Slots

Sunken-TreasureSunken Treasure focuses on a diver that goes under the ocean surface in search for treasures and lost ships, and in the process he gets a chance to become rich. As evidenced by the game’s intro screen, the diver gets his hands on a treasure chest filled with gold coins, the dream of any adventurer in search for gold. The game is not terribly realistic with its graphics, and it might not be polished enough to be considered one of the great ones, but it does a lot of things right with features and its prizes.

Speaking of features and prizes, Sunken Treasure offers you up to $25,000 in the main game, a random progressive jackpot and as the game is running you can expect wild and scatter symbols to pop up from time to time, with the bonus round with free spins and with multipliers being part of the advantages they bring. The setup of the game is a typical one, 5 reels with 20 lines on them.

Features of Sunken Treasure

One of the things I’ve loved seeing in Sunken Treasure is the fact that they took their features seriously. You are offered two different bonus games or levels that you go through, each one with its set of prizes. Instead of simply relying on some basic free spins and multipliers, they’ve actually added some extra value.

I’ll start with the Diver symbol first, the wild symbol that is limited to the reels from the middle (2, 3 and 4). A Diver can’t substitute for a Ship scatter symbol, but it will do that for every other regular icon. With at least one wild part of a new combo, the prize doubles with the help of the multiplier it includes.

The second symbol with a feature attached would be the Ship, a scatter that gives you mostly access to feature rounds. It does have a small prize as well, but that one is worth only the equivalent of the triggering bet and it requires two scatter symbols to be present. The real value of this symbol is in the bonus games it helps trigger.

Treasure Dive Feature

With 3 to 5 Ship scatters on the screen, you are presented with the Treasure Dive feature, where you have 3 to 5 picks to make. Each pick you make, from the treasure chests available on the screen, will give you either a prize (2x to 10x the bet) or 5 free games. Free spins have 3x multipliers. The same picks can also give you Red or Blue Jewels, useful because they can trigger the Jewel Pick Feature.

Jewel Pick Feature

Whenever you get Red or Blue Jewels, you win additional bonus picks, to be used once the Treasure Dive feature and free spins are over. These picks will get you prizes only.

A Blue Jewel will mean a prize for you that is worth either 10x, 20x, 50x or 100x the triggering bet. With a Red Jewel, things get even more interesting. Each one can get you payouts worth either 100x, 200x, 300x or 500x the bet value.

Betting options and jackpots

The Sunken Treasure bets will work both for penny slot players and for high rollers. The betting range here is between $0.01 and $100, meaning that each of the 20 lines available can receive wagers of up to $5 (the maximum value of a single coin).

A 5,000 coins top jackpot is offered, the cash value depending on the coin denomination selected for the bet. At best, it can mean $25,000 in your pocket. The prize section gets a bit of help from a random progressive jackpot, which makes it more appealing.

Design and symbols

The cartoon style design of Sunken Treasure shows us the underwater world, the background picture being that of the ocean with various pretty fish swimming around. You get to see the ocean floor as well, but it’s barren and instead you get most of the vegetation and the sea creatures as part of the symbol collection. It’s an average looking game overall, especially since underwater themed slots tend to look great and many of its competitors did a better job with the design.

Symbols: Diver (wild), Ship (scatter), Treasure Chest (2,500x), Fish (1,250x), Starfish (500x), Anchor (500x), Ace (200x), King (200x), Queen (150x), Jack (150x), Ten (100x), Nine (100x).

Is It Worth Playing?

RTG did its job for the most part in Sunken Treasure, so both the potential payouts and its features are well chosen and executed. Even the graphics look good, and the only way you can say something bad about them is if you compare them with other slot machines that have done the underwater theme even better.

Sunken Treasure can be found at any RTG casino, where you get a chance to play it for real money or in free mode.
