Gladiator’s Gold Slots

Gladiators-GoldGladiator’s Gold puts in front of its players a regular number of reels, but with very few lines and no features it resembles a classic game in many ways. It was created by Wager Gaming and it’s a slot machine that is themed around the Roman Empire and its preference for gladiator fights. The arena where the fights take place is in the background, in this game that has a smaller number of symbols than usual, to compensate for the small number of active lines.

Only 5 lines are offered on the slot’s 5 reels, plus you don’t get any kind of features from it. Add to that the rather unimpressive $10,000 jackpot, and you will find that there aren’t a lot of reasons to play this game.

Features of Gladiator’s Gold

The game is quite unusual for a 5 reel slot machine, as it doesn’t have any kind of feature to put in front of its players. It also has very few lines, so you don’t get as many chances to form your combinations as you would in a game with 20 or more. However, they’ve at least used a slightly smaller number of symbols, a total of 9 of them being present on the reels, while typical slots use 10-12, including the special features. Still, you might not get the chance to create a combo that often. It feels like the kind of game that you want to play when you’re making the switch from classic slots that haven’t got much to offer, to 5 reel games. Still, you don’t want to spend too much time with these simple modern games, there are considerably better options out there.

Betting options and jackpots

You get as many coins to use in your bets as there are lines in the game. The 5 coins available to you can have a value between $0.01 and $10, and you decide how much they’re worth. The maximum wager can be set at a value of $50.

The slot’s biggest prize is at only 1,000 coins, meaning that the cash value is at $10,000 and rather disappointing.

Design and symbols

The chosen theme has good potential, but the actual implementation is far from impressive. It’s an older design style, with decent symbols but with background pictures that don’t make the cut and with a bit too much white space on the reels around the symbols. Somehow it feels like it could’ve used more work.

Symbols: Gladiator Helmet (1,000 coins), Lion (500 coins), Soldier Helmet (250 coins), Chariot (100 coins), Armor (100 coins), Caesar (50 coins), Axes (50 coins), Shield with Swords (20 coins) and Coliseum (10 coins).

Is It Worth Playing?

I can see it as a decent choice if you want a 5 reel game that is as simple as possible, but it doesn’t do that great when it comes to prizes or graphics either, so I for one will not be returning to it in the future.

Gladiator’s Gold can be found at any Wager Gaming casino, where you get a chance to play it for real money or in free mode.
