Mile High is one of those slot machines that will manage to surprise you, though the theme choice is the one that is the culprit here, not the gameplay. The action takes place aboard an airplane, and our hero is a guy that’s going on a holiday and he is being introduced into the Mile High Club by the lovely hostess. The guys behind this surprising slot machine are the developers from Wager Gaming.
The game not only looks like a modern title, it also has the reels (5) and the paylines (25) to prove it. It has a lot of great features, with multipliers of up to 16x possible in the game, with wild symbols, free spins, scatters and even a bonus game. The top jackpot is not bad either, being worth $40,000.
Features of Mile High
The theme isn’t the only thing that will make you want to test this game out, as the features are also generous and include not only two wilds, but also a scatter symbol, the usual free spins with multipliers and a bonus game that fits very well with the chosen theme.
The Man and the Hostess are the two that work together on getting into the Mile High Club, and both of them are wilds in this case. The 2nd reel is the one that gets the Man, while the 4th reel is going to have the Hostess wild appear on it. Each one appears only on that one reel where it is assigned, so there is no way for the wild to form its own combinations or award prizes directly. Neither wild can replace a scatter or bonus symbol, but they work with any other regular symbol.
The scattered Airplane is the second of the feature symbols in use in Mile High. It’s going to be quite useful when it appears at least two times on the game’s reels, as at that point it will start offering prizes. These start at 2x in the case of two scattered Airplanes, and go up to 200x the wager when all five symbols are present.
Free Games Feature
The free spins are much more interesting in Mile High than they are in the other slots from Wager Gaming. You trigger them the same way, with the help of at least three Airplanes scattered on the reels, but then you have a choice that Wager Gaming doesn’t usually give you.
You pick the number of free spins and the multipliers that go with them. If you prefer lots of free spins, you can choose the round of 12 spins with the individual wilds bringing along 2x multipliers, while the contribution of both wilds takes them to 4x. The other extreme is with only 5 free spins, but with multipliers of 4x from the wilds, or 16x when both are on that same payline. The middle ground would bring along 8 spins for free and multipliers of 3x, or 9x with both present.
While these free spins are running, the wilds expand and cover the reels they’re on, so in addition to those great multipliers you receive three wilds whenever one of them shows up.
Kiss Kiss Kiss Bonus
There is even a bonus game that you can take advantage of, though it’s not terribly advanced. All you have to do inside is pick a Kiss symbol, in order to find out what kind of prize you’ve won (maximum is 50x the bet). The trigger for this feature is the Kiss symbol, which needs to appear a minimum of three times. You can’t get this feature as the free spins are running, only in the base game.
Betting options and jackpots
Whatever bet you decide to make in this game, you’re going to have to use one coin per line that gets activated, with the maximum being at 25 coins. These coins have a $5 maximum denomination, with a $0.01 starting point. The maximum wager possible is worth $125.
You’re going to be able to take home up to 8,000 coins thanks to the symbol with the two pilots, or up to $40,000 cash. The free spins have very high multipliers when wilds get involved though, so it could be considerably higher than that.
Design and symbols
I have to say, the theme has a certain appeal, and the topic choice is a big part of that. It doesn’t hurt that the design helps with the visuals though, with the characters, objects and the background picture all being of the highest quality. You can see the attractive blonde hostess in one of the symbols, the man that has red lipstick all over his face and the two pilots that are congratulating him for joining the Mile High Club. The combination of the theme choice and the modern and high quality design does a lot to make this game an attractive choice.

It’s one of my favorite titles from Wager Gaming, and the theme choice isn’t the biggest attraction. The design quality is way above average for them, it has lots of great features and among them wilds that can apply multipliers of up to 16x. What’s not to love about it?
