If you’ve ever interested in online gambling, than Playtech is one of those companies that shouldn’t require an introduction. This Isle of Man-based company is widely considered to be the largest gambling software and services supplier in the world, which is probably closer to the truth than Playtech’s rivals would like to think.
The company doesn’t focus on a single form of gambling and provides its products to online casinos, poker networks, bingo rooms and even land-based gambling establishments. The casino games designed by Playtech range from slots through classic table games, video poker machines, specialty games, live dealer games to fixed-odds games and virtual sports.
Playtech Online and Land-based Slots
Playtech slots aren’t all that difficult to find in a brick and mortar gambling establishment, but there’s simply no denying the fact that the company simply isn’t all that invested in the land-based gambling industry. The online slots on the other hand are available in pretty much every conceivable shape and form.
This includes downloadable packages, browser-based casinos and mobile gambling apps. Obviously, Playtech slots aren’t available exclusively in the Playtech-powered casinos – most of the latest products are easy to integrate with third-party software platforms, so countless high-profile casinos offers at least a few Playtech games. Please note that Playtech’s real money iGaming products aren’t available to US-based customers.
Playtech Slot Game Reviews
Playtech has more than 300 unique slots in its stable, so trying to do them all justice in a single paragraph doesn’t sound like a good idea, especially since many of those games differ from one another to a considerable extent.
Nevertheless, there’s one thing that all Playtech slots have in come: the amazing production values. Whether you pick the latest movie-themed game or a new progressive jackpot machine, modern Playtech slots are pretty much guaranteed to deliver state of the art three-dimensional graphics, flaring special effects, amazing animations and inspiring soundtracks.
The gameplay tends to be smooth and in some cases innovative, but in the end most Playtech slots can be described as solid rather than crazy.

Reception by Players
There are dozens of online casinos that offer Playtech slots and if that wasn’t enough, in most cases those games account for the lion’s share of the daily traffic.
Playtech slots are equally popular in the United Kingdom, continental Europe, Asia and Australia, but unfortunately the American audiences don’t have too many opportunities to try them out due to strict federal anti-gambling regulations which Playtech is bound to follow.
Most Popular Playtech Slot Machines
Playtech slots are an excellent choice for players who enjoy licensed slots and/or progressive jackpot machines. If you’re looking for an exciting slot based on your favorite movie franchise, odds are high that one of the Playtech casinos is going to have your fix. The most popular machines combine these two genres to create the ultimate licensed slot gaming experience.
Marvel-based games such as X-Men, Iron Man or the Incredible Hulk are perfect examples of such slots, as they feature multi-level progressive jackpots and exciting bonus features that fit the overall theme and mood of the games. The jackpot wins in Playtech slots may range from a few hundred dollars to $500,000 and more, depending on your stake settings and the amount of lines that you’ve decided to play.
Company History
Playtech was founded by Teddy Sagi in 1999, just a few years before the massive iGaming revolution of the early noughties. However, it took two years for Playtech to sign its first partnership deal with a legitimate casino in 2001. One year later, Playtech managed to secure a contract with a major land-based casino that wanted to go online, which allowed the growing company to launch its Bingoland bingo network in 2003 and release the first version of its live dealer casino product.
In 2004, Playtech launched iPoker and Videobet. In 2005, Playtech started focusing on the mobile gambling market, which proved to be an excellent decision since the market share of mobile gambling operators has been constantly growing ever since. In 2006, Playtech was listed on the London Stock Exchange with a net worth of £550 million.
Unfortunately, the company suffered its first major setback later that game, as it was forced to withdraw from the US market after the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act was passed and the US Department of Justice started targeting US-friendly iGaming companies. Fortunately, it didn’t take long for Playtech to recover from this loss and the company could focus on expanding into the online sports betting market.
It was at that time that Playtech signed partnership deals with William Hill and Paddy Power. Playtech was also responsible for creating an excellent download casino package for Betfair in the late noughties. Over the course of all those years, Playtech boosted its growth by acquiring smaller iGaming companies that proved to have talented staff. The most important purchases include Ash Gaming, Geneity, Mobenga and Virtue Fusion.
Outlook and Latest Developments
Playtech has been doing rather well under the leadership of the current CEO, Mor Welzer. Despite the fact that the company’s poker network has been going through difficult times over the past few months, the overall revenue rose by 31% to €134.9 million in the first quarter of 2015.
The core casino vertical was up 28%, the services were up 27% and the land-based operations climbed 198%, which would be even more impressive if they didn’t account for a small fraction of company’s income. All in all, 2015 is looking like yet another great year for Playtech, especially since the company is eyeing yet another sports betting-related acquisition and several new sports betting partnership.
This is obviously excellent news for Playtech’s slots enthusiasts as well as Teddy Sagi, who continues to hold a 1/3 stake in his company.
