Chase the Cheese Slots

Chase-the-CheeseChase the Cheese is a creation of the guys from BetSoft, an unusual slot machine that feels a bit like a hybrid between a classic and a modern title. The theme is clear enough with the mouse door staying right next to the reels and the cheese among the symbols. It’s going to remind you of your childhood’s Tom and Jerry animation series, but it’s not as good looking and not as fun either.

The layout of this game has 4 reels with 4 symbols on each one, plus a total of 9 paylines you can activate. The game will give away a decent top prize which is worth up to $7,500, or a progressive jackpot, while the only features it gives you access to are the wild and the bonus game.

Features of Chase the Cheese

The game doesn’t have much in the way of features, but then again it’s not something I’d expect from it, since it’s such a simple game. The two that it does offer do make a difference though.

The bonus symbol gets the game logo, with “Chase the Cheese” written on it. You need this symbol to be on all four positions of a payline, to get you access to the bonus round and its potential prizes.

The wild symbol is even easier to recognize, as there is the word WILD painted on it in different colors. As you can expect from a typical wild symbol, this one can also substitute for any other symbol in the game. It appears to even work on the bonus symbol, something that it will not be capable of in many other slots.

Betting options and jackpots

Chase the Cheese gets you access to its 9 lines if you use at least 1 coin on each one, but you are allowed to increase the wager to 5 coins. The coin will be at $0.02 when it’s at its lowest value, while at its highest it’s going to be worth $1. The maximum bet of this simple slot is $45.

The game will get you prizes of up to 7,500 coins, if you get the four Jackpot symbols on one of the lines. If you used the maximum bet during that round, you will win the progressive jackpot instead.

Design and symbols

Taking place in a wooden house, the action revolves around the four reels and the mouse door you see to their left. It’s a door cut into the wall, to allow the mouse access to the rest of the house, just like it was in Tom and Jerry. The graphics aren’t that great, which would be typical for a slot that looks like it’s got about a decade behind it.

Symbols: Wild (wild), Game Logo (bonus), Jackpot (progressive jackpot/1,500x), Mouse (400x), Mouse Trap (200x), Magician’s Top Hat (100x), Red 7 (20x), Cheese (45x), Plum (8x) and Cherries (3x).

Is It Worth Playing?

It’s an unusual little game, I’ll give it that, but it’s not something you absolutely need to experience. The progressive jackpot would be the only one that might make it worth trying out, but even that one isn’t going to make you rich.

The Chase the Cheese slot machine is offered through the BetSoft platform, so if you want to play it for real or just to practice, look out for casinos that use it.
