Juju Jack Slots

Juju-JackJuju Jack is the kind of slot machine you especially want to know about when it’s Halloween time. Its Voodoo theme will go quite well with the holiday of the dead, and more than that, it’s a fun looking slot, where laughter and smiles are the real targets, instead of scaring people. The Voodoo theme ensures that there are plenty of human bones, skulls and tribal motifs for everyone. While there are plenty of scary looking slots out there already, this is the first one I’ve seen that has a theme built around Voodoo.

With 5 reels, Juju Jack qualifies as a modern game, with 25 lines spread across that has an interesting theme, to which it adds a couple of basic features, consisting in bonus games, free spins and wilds. Even the prize is at least good enough at $20,000.

Features of Juju Jack

The game doesn’t rely just on its good looks to keep you interested, and it actually puts plenty of modern features into action. You will find that there are bonus games inside, along with scatters, free games, respins and expanding wild symbols.

The green skulled character that’s playing the bongo is an expanding wild, the kind of modern feature I’d like to see in every game. Whenever it appears on its reels (four out of five available, the 1st reel being the only one that doesn’t get it) the wild expands and all the positions of that reel are covered by it. It’s a valuable feature to have, since it will give you three wilds at the same time, each time it appears.

Bonus Feature

You can get the bonus feature triggered when three dolls appear on reels 2, 3 and 4. The position doesn’t matter, as only their presence is required. This is available for the base game only. You get five picks once the bonus round starts and you have to choose the objects that you want to use on the doll, to torture it. If it sounds like fun, that’s because it is quite entertaining. The prizes consist either in free spins or in cash.

Free Games Feature

If you get free spins out of the bonus feature, you can get them retriggered with the help of the bonus symbol (the doll), when it appears on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th reels. If that happens, you receive 7 extra free spins. You can retrigger it up to 13 times, so you can win 98 free spins total (though it’s highly unlikely).

Voodoo Respin Feature

This is a randomly triggered feature, meaning that you don’t get to start it up yourself with symbols that appear. When it does trigger, it will be on one of three reels (either 2, 3 or 4). You will notice that Jack bewitches the reels that are affected by this bonus feature and that you can get multiple reels. Once the initial pay is awarded, between 1 and 3 reels respin and with a bit of luck you get more winning combinations. For the duration of the respin, the bag symbol turns into an expanding wild.

Betting options and jackpots

Juju Jack allows for bets of up to $250 to be made, when you select all the paylines available and you max out the line wager. The line bet consists in a single coin, and you are free to choose its exact value, as long as it is within the $0.01 to $10 range.

Though the graphics are quite good, the prizes are about average, at least if you compare them with the rest of the Cryptologic slots. You can get 2,000 coins out of the game’s best combo, worth up to $20,000.

Design and symbols

The design is the game’s biggest advantage, with the Voodoo theme being wonderfully done, with 3D designs and cute symbols and characters contributing to it. They are done in a cartoon style that is perfect for the scary theme, with letters made out of bones and skulls being part of at least half of the symbols. Black is a big part of the design, but there is also a light green in there, orange and other bright colors that are used in small amounts.

Symbols: Green Skull With Bongos (expanding wild), Green Doll (scatter), Skeleton Character (2,000x), Alligator (400x), Chicken (400x), Snake (250x), Skull Tipped Bone (200x), Drum (200x), Book (150x), Bone Necklace (125x) and Bag (100x).

Is It Worth Playing?

It’s one of the cooler themed slots to play if you enjoy scary stuff, or if you simply want something to try out because Halloween is near. It doesn’t excel when it comes to prizes or features, but it’s a good slot otherwise.

This Juju Jack slot is offered by all online casinos with Cryptologic software, playable either in practice or in real money mode.
