Awesome Neptune’s Trident Slots

Awesome-Neptune's-TridentAwesome Neptune’s Trident is based on the mythology of the Roman people. Neptune was the name of the god of the sea and freshwater in their stories, the counterpart of Poseidon from the Greek mythology. The sea, some of its beautiful views and creatures, along with many of the things that humans have left at its bottom (from old shoes to treasure chests) are at the center of the action in this game. Despite the graphics reminding us of the classic 3 reel slots (it’s a 5 reel game though), I’d say that it’s one of my favorites from IGT, the retro style of design looking great. Neptune himself sits on the left side of the screen, taking almost half of it.

Even though it looks slightly unusual, Awesome Neptune’s Trident plays like a regular game, one that has 12 paylines on its 5 reels, with multipliers and bonus games as its features. The jackpot will get you up to $12,000 through the slot’s own resources, or a progressive jackpot as an alternative, if you’re lucky.

Features of Awesome Neptune’s Trident

While there aren’t that many features for you to enjoy in this game, there are symbols with multipliers attached, along with a bonus feature.

The Double multipliers are reserved for the 4th and 5th reels. They don’t seem to be wild symbols, but when a payline has a combination of symbols, and then gets the multiplier as well, you get double the usual payout. Since the multiplier has to fit on the line as well, it can’t work with the five symbol combinations, so the jackpot doesn’t benefit from it. Get the multiplier symbol on both the 4th and 5th reel positions of that payline that already has three matching symbols, and they combine for a 4x multiplier.

Lost Treasure Bonus Game

A bonus game is present, requiring at least three symbols with the treasure chest, all on the same line. The resulting bonus game gives you six treasure chests. You make picks and you get prizes that can reach a value of 500x the wager of the round.

Betting options and jackpots

The betting system is fairly straightforward, each line getting only one coin when it’s activated, though you’re not obligated to use them all. Once you’ve selected the number of lines you want to bet on, you have to decide on the betting range for each individual coin. Your choice goes from $0.10 to $2, and maxing it out will allow for bets of up to $24.

Given its maximum bet requirement, the game doesn’t feel expensive, but then again it doesn’t have really big prizes either. You can get 1,000 coins from it, up to $2,000, or you can hope to win the progressive jackpot. An alternative would be the bonus game and its payouts of up to 500x the bet, or $12,000.

Design and symbols

The retro design style in use here feels like one of the best choices IGT has made in the game. There is a lot of dark blueish green in it, as it should be in a game about the ocean and the things that live in it. Neptune sits to the left, with the trident in his hand and a steel crown on his head, watching you as you play his game. The reels, betting options and paytable are all crowded in the other half of the screen, but it doesn’t feel like it’s not enough.

Symbols: Double Bubble (multiplier), Treasure Chest (bonus), Trident (1,000x), Fish (500x), Crab (200x), Octopus 200x), Diver’s Helmet (150x) and Anchor (100x).

Is It Worth Playing?

I enjoyed playing the game, especially because of its cool graphics, but the payouts and betting requirements contributed to it as well. You don’t get rich playing it, but you don’t have to invest a lot of money either.

The Awesome Neptune’s Trident slot machine is offered through the IGT platform, so if you want to play it for real or just to practice, look out for casinos that use it.
