Double Diamond Slots

Double-DiamondDouble Diamond is a slot machine with a classic theme, using the diamond motif in combination with classic looks and symbols, to give you a simple looking game, but one that has a few aces up its sleeve. Despite having a rather bad looking theme, the kind that classics often get, Double Diamond has features to offer and they make it a lot more interesting than 90% of the slots of the same type that you will find out there.

It’s as basic as they get when it comes to reels and paylines, with 3 for the former, 1 for the latter. IGT is the designer that offers this slot, placing inside a wild symbol and multipliers of up to 4x. Its prizes will go up to $2,500.

Features of Double Diamond

It’s quite rare to see a slot machine with a classic layout that also offers two types of features, both connected to the same symbol though. The wild symbol is that symbol, and besides doing its job, it also has multipliers attached.

The job of a wild is to act as a substitute for other regular symbols, whenever its position allows it to contribute to the formation of a new combo. Three symbols are needed in a combo, so if you have one or two matching symbols, while the rest of the positions are occupied by wilds, you have a paying combo. If the line is occupied only by wild symbols, then you’re in luck, as you’ve just won the slot’s jackpot.

A single wild helping out with a combo will double its payout, while two wilds doing the same thing will quadruple the prize of that round, the multiplier being 4x instead of the usual 2x.

Betting options and jackpots

With only one payline available inside, the game keeps things rather simple, though you can still play with the number of coins that are used. The use of three coins, the maximum allowed, is a good idea, mostly because of the small bonus that you get from the slot’s top jackpot when you do that. Bets will go up to $3, with coins of $1 used.

The number of coins you use will determine the payout for each combo. For example, using 3 coins and getting the three Double Diamond Logos on the payline will result in a 2,500 coins prize ($2,500). With 2 coins, the same combo pays 1,600 coins, while 1 coin will give you 800 coins back.

Design and symbols

Its design is its biggest disadvantage, the graphics being way too similar to those that you would see in games from the 90’s. The colors combination of purple, black and teal is not that great either. The symbols are mostly classics, the same ones that you are already used to by now.

Symbols: Double Diamond Logo (wild, 2,500 coins), Red Seven (240 coins), Triple Bar (120 coins), Double Bar (75 coins), Single Bar (30 coins) and Cherries (30x).

Is It Worth Playing?

The slot is average in most areas, even for a classic, but it does have that wild symbol with 4x multipliers, that I can’t get out of my head. It doesn’t apply to the top jackpot though, so only the small prizes can benefit from it.

The Double Diamond slot machine is offered through the IGT platform, so if you want to play it for real or just to practice, look out for casinos that use it.
