Five a Day Slots

Five-a-DayFive a Day, one of the games that IGT offers its players, is a slot machine with both modern and classic influences in it. The modern part is mostly visible in the number of reels and the presence of some features, while the classic part is shown through the limited number of paylines and the fruits which are visible everywhere in the game. The game manages to be interesting even so, and at the very least you will find it quite different from most games with similar themes and layouts.

This is a very simple game, offering just 5 lines for its 5 reels. It does have more features than it might seem at first, including the Mini Numbers, a bonus game and a wild. The big prize is $30,000 at best.

Features of Five a Day

While playing Five a Day, you’re going to discover that the slot has bonus symbols, wilds, stacked icons and bonus games.

We have the Wild Card icon first, which shows off about five different types of fruit in one picture. It’s marked as a wild, so it’s easy to spot on the reels. You will also notice when it does its job, as this means that it is part of some combination, acting as a substitute for a symbol that is missing. There are some limits to the power of the wild though, not being able to replace a bonus icon. Wilds also don’t pay prizes directly.

Mini Numbers Jackpot

The slot uses a special feature, which is not unusual but not very common either. You will notice that symbols will sometimes have a small number in the bottom left corner of the symbol. In order to get the big jackpot, of 3,000 coins, you need the mini numbers on the same payline to appear in order, from 1 to 5.

Fruity Level-up Feature

This would be the bonus game of this slot machine, and its start is done through 3+ Bonus Star icons which appear together on a line, from the left to the right. They’re obviously not scatters.

Five-a-Day-bonus

You are asked to pick from covered squares, and they will reveal to you either Level Up or Multiplier values. The Multiplier gets you a prize, while the Level Up takes you to the next row of covered symbols, where you get to make another pick. Each new level gives you bigger and bigger Multiplier values, so the idea is to get three Level-Up choices before you find the Multiplier.

Betting options and jackpots

You don’t have much to bet on in this case, only 5 lines being used. Each line gets one coin, so naturally the bets will have 5 coins total. Those coins are the ones you can modify the most, the range being anywhere between $0.01 and $10. You can spend $50 per round.

The rewards will offer you up to 3,000 coins, the value being $30,000 in the best case scenario.

Design and symbols

The slot offers a very colorful and cheerful design, with all sorts of fruits being placed both on the reels and next to them. You have oranges, melons, cherries, lemons and strawberries smiling and making goofy faces next to the reels, and they’re also present among the symbols.

Symbols: Wild Card (wild), Bonus Star (bonus), Jackpot Bell (2,000 coins), Watermelon (1,000 coins), Tomato (500 coins), Orange (150 coins) and Cherry (50 coins).

Is It Worth Playing?

Though it’s not as simple as other 5 line games, it doesn’t offer huge prizes or great graphics, so I’d pass on it if you prefer games that give you more.

Five a Day can be found at any IGT casino, where you get a chance to play it for real money or in free mode.
