Gin Joint Jackpot Slots

Gin-Joint-JackpotGin Joint Jackpot has a very appealing theme, but the actual design that they went with is nowhere near as fun as it could’ve been. The slot is one of the titles that IGT has released, and once inside you will discover that it’s inspired by the mafia of the 20s, a particularly glamorous era in its history. You will discover that it also has a progressive jackpot to offer, hence the reason why it’s mentioned in the name.

You can place your bets on up to 20 lines in this case. You can win progressive jackpots or regular payouts of up to $100,000, and you can also take advantage of multiple bonus games, of scatter symbols and wilds.

Features of Gin Joint Jackpot

The players that try out this game will discover that it has scatters to offer, along with wilds, multiple bonus games and there is even a chance to get a progressive jackpot.

One of the major symbols of Gin Joint Jackpot is the one with the Model T car, a retro automobile that Ford built at the time. Since it’s a wild symbol, it will come in handy quite often as a substitute, a symbol which takes the place of another. This isn’t something it can do when the scatters are involved though, so don’t expect it to trigger bonus games. However, you should expect it to act as the trigger for the top fixed jackpot, the one which pays 10,000x the line bet.

Booze Busting Feature

In order to trigger this particular bonus game, you need for a minimum of three Police Officers to appear scattered on the reels of Gin Joint Jackpot. The location of these symbols isn’t important, and you don’t even need them to be on adjacent reels. You just need a minimum of three such symbols at the same time.

You are asked to assist the police officer, in his search for illegal drinking establishments (speakeasies). Each triggering scatter symbol gets you one search for a speakeasy, so you will have between three and five choices to make. Only successful searches will bring you prizes.

In-Reels Shootout Feature

A couple of shootout features can be triggered in this game, simply by having the right symbols on certain reels at the same time. This first one needs you to have a Detective symbol on the 1st reel, while a Henchman is present anywhere else on the last four reels. The feature plays immediately and on the reels, with the Detective attempting to shoot all the Henchman symbols present on the reels. Each shot Henchman brings you a prize.

Shootout Bonus Game

This particular feature is important because you can win the progressive jackpot with its help. The requirement is for two symbols to appear, a Detective on the 1st reel, with the Big Boss on the 5th reel.

The game starts you off with a shootout, which takes place in a bar. You have to shoot the Henchmen which are present inside, and with each victim there is a new prize for you. This part of the feature can be played in Auto or Manual mode, so you can shoot them yourself if you want to have a bit of fun.

You can keep getting prizes this way until the Big Boss makes an appearance and challenges you.

At the conclusion of the shootout you get to another mode, where a car chase is involved. The Detective has to catch the Big Boss, getting you prizes based on how many barrels with booze are in the car.

You need for the truck to have three barrels of booze, in order for the progressive jackpot to be awarded. You get better chances if the wager is a bigger one.

Betting options and jackpots

The bets in this game can be very low, $0.01 being the minimum per line, and they can be quite high as well, going up to $10. With 20 lines selectable each round, the bets can go up to $200.

The slot’s rewards come through the progressive jackpot which can be won in the Shootout bonus feature, and through the top jackpot of 10,000 coins, worth up to $100,000.

Design and symbols

As I’ve mentioned, the design in this case is inspired by the 20s and 30s mafia, the ones that became powerful as a result of the ban on alcohol in the United States. The theme choice holds a lot of promise, but I’m not as big of a fan of the design. The symbols appear to be as retro as the theme. I did appreciate the poker cards though, as they’re placed next to objects that were part of a mobster’s look.

Is It Worth Playing?

There are some very good things about this slot, including its many features, its progressive jackpot or the 10,000x regular jackpot, but there is one downside as well, and that’s its design.

You will find Gin Joint Jackpot at any online casino which chooses to use software from IGT, playable either for free or for real money.
