Texas Tea Slots

Texas-TeaTexas Tea is IGT’s slot machine and it deals with the state of Texas, taking many of the things we know about it, or which are popular in the state, and turning them into symbols. From bulls, to hat wearing Texans, cactus plants or armadillos, the game tries to include pretty much everything you know about Texas. The premise is a good one, but the realization doesn’t come close to being considered good, not with that kind of design anyway.

Texas Tea is a 5 reel slot, with 9 paylines and up to $10,000 in prizes. It doesn’t rely on the usual features as much, with only scatter symbols present, but you do get two different bonus games from them. The developer of this Texas themed slot is IGT.

Features of Texas Tea

There aren’t too many features, the scatter being the only special symbol included, but at least there are two different bonus games that are part of it.

The first scatter symbol has the oil derrick on it, with a red background. Since this is a scatter, you can expect it not to need a payline to appear on, but in this case you still have to get the symbols on consecutive reels, with the one from the far left being the starting point.

Big Oil Derrick Bonus

This is the first of the two bonus games that Texas Tea has to offer, the trigger being the presence of 3+ Oil Derrick scatters on the screen. If you have more than just the minimum of three symbols to start it, the prizes will be considerably better. You are presented with a map of Texas inside, with eight regions dividing it. You choose one of the regions and an oil derrick is placed in it. Depending on how rich the reserves are in that region, you get a smaller or bigger prize. The number of triggering scatters decides how many oil derricks are placed and the number of prizes you go home with.

Oil Dividend Check

The second bonus game offered, it requires the Texas Ted character to appear. It’s also a scatter, so it can be present anywhere and still get you the bonus feature. The more scatters are present when the feature is triggered, the better the payouts offered by it. It’s an instant bonus game, with the prize being written on a check by Texas Ted.

Betting options and jackpots

As many as 45 coins can be part of a single round’s wager, if you decide to select all 9 paylines and then to use the maximum number of 5 coins in each case. The denomination being fixed at $1, you end up with a $45 bet.

The reward, when you hit the best combo available in Texas Tea, is the equivalent of 10,000 coins, or $10,000, as long as you’ve been using the biggest bet available to you.

Design and symbols

I’ve mentioned it before, but it’s worth saying again, this game is not a great choice if the design is important to you. It might not have playing cards or useless symbols in it, it’s all about Texas inside, but the way the characters and objects were drawn doesn’t give you a lot of reasons to love it. Unless you’re a fan of Texas, you should be able to find other games that look better, even if they’re not on the same topic.

Symbols: Texas Ted (scatter), Oil Derrick (scatter), Logo (10,000 coins), Armadillo (500 coins), Plane (250 coins), Longhorn Steer (250 coins), Cadillac (250 coins), Yellow Rose (100 coins), Bluebonnet (100 coins), Globemallow (100 coins) and Cactus (100 coins).

Is It Worth Playing?

I wouldn’t say it is, not if you need something pretty to look at while you play a game. If you’re a fan of Texas in particular, it might be worth the trouble though. Otherwise, keep looking, there are a lot of great lookers out there and they often have better prizes.

You will find Texas Tea at any online casino which chooses to use software from IGT, playable either for free or for real money.
