The Price Is Right Slots

The-Price-Is-RightThe Price is Right comes from IGT, the slot developer offering inside a game which tries to bring to your monitor the experience from the TV show with the same name. A hugely popular game show, The Price is Right started off in 1956, and though it has changed somewhat since then, it still runs to this day in various countries around the world. The unusual part about this game show is that it asks its contestants to guess how much a product is worth, and the ones closer to the truth would be able to win prizes and products or even cruise trips.

When you place a bet in The Price is Right you cover a maximum of 25 lines each round. It’s a 5 reel slot machine, it holds on its reels scatter and wilds, plus it can give you access to mini games, bonus games, free spins and multipliers. The top prize it offers normally goes up to $9,375, but there are ways to improve it considerably.

Features of The Price Is Right

The developers did a fairly decent job with the game, including some features that are available in most slot machines, along with others that are less common or which have a connection with the game show. Bonus games of different types are part of it, along with wild symbols and scatters.

One of the major features of the game is called Big Wheel, and it actually involves a large wheel which is visible at all times on the right side of the screen. To have access to it, you will have to activate all the lines and to use the Big Wheel switch, which turns it off or on, in the latter case also requiring a bet that is at 10x the normal bet value. This Big Wheel spins at the same time as the reels and you can get from it a cash prize, a bonus game or a multiplier, depending on which spot it stops.

The Host of the show is the wild element of the game. Substituting for other symbols, it will come in handy because you get more winning combinations in the long run. You will only see it on the three reels from the middle, so it can’t form a combination of its own.

Mini Game Feature

Access to this feature is obtained with the Host wild’s help. The three reels on which the wilds can appear have to offer this symbol at the same time, and if that happens then you can play the Mini Game. You are asked to choose one of two features to play, either Cliff Hangers or Secret X.

Secret X

Should you choose the Secret X bonus game, you are going to be shown 9 squares, out of which 3 have a Question Mark on them. You have to pick the one that has the X hidden underneath it and then in which of the 6 other squares do you want to place it. You will be shown an item which has two values to choose from. If you get the right one, you receive an additional X to place. The goal is to uncover the column from the middle, so that it shows off a Secret X.

The consolation prize in it is at 8x the bet, while the prize for the creation of a diagonal or horizontal line is 50x the bet. With the Big Wheel active, the prizes are all multiplied by 25x.

Cliff Hangers

If you go with this feature, you will receive 8 free games from it. Go through all these spins, and then you will get a Cliff Hanger feature.

You click on Play, which will get a Hiker started on his climb. He will stop from time to time, and you will be able to either get the prize or tell him to continue. The position at which the Hiker stops eventually will determine what kind of multiplier will be applied to the wins you got during the free spins. You can get one that is between 3x and 7x. There is also a chance that the Hiker will fall from the cliffs, in which case the consolation multiplier is 2x.

Showcase Bonus

The Game Logo gets the role of a scatter symbol, and its presence on the first three reels at the same time will determine the Showcase bonus to start up.

A Board will be displayed by the game, with the position 7 having a Car on it. You are asked to place items on the board in the order of their price, from low to high. It starts off with two items, which you need to decide where they belong, on the 1st or the 2nd position. You do the same with the items for the 3rd and 4th positions. The third choice asks you to place the items for the positions 5 and 6.

Each time you make a correct choice, you get a prize worth 5x the bet. With all choices being the right ones, you also get a bonus prize worth 100 times the bet.

Betting options and jackpots

You have 1 to 25 lines to activate with your bet, and you can use coins worth anywhere between $0.01 and $3.75. The coin value is also your line bet. You multiply one with the other, and at most you can spend $93.75 per spin, as long as you don’t use the Wheel Bonus feature, which requires an additional bet, of up to 10 times the total wager.

The base game payouts, before the Big Wheel gets a chance to get involved, will offer at most 2,500 coins, which for this game would mean up to $9,375 cash.

Design and symbols

Though done in a cartoon style, the game is easily recognizable as a title which is dedicated to the game show with the same name. There are all sorts of logos and images of hosts, assistants, contestants and even the big wheel. It’s quite well done all things considered. Though you might expect the studio to be shown in the background, they went with an abstract image instead, with blue rays of different shades originating from somewhere behind the game area.

Is It Worth Playing?

It will be a game that fans of the show will love, while everyone else will at least not dislike it. It’s well enough done, it has loads of great features, and I think you will enjoy it.
