The theme of the game focuses on a famous wrestler, called Andre the Giant in the ring, but whose real name was Andre Rene Roussimoff. Born on May 19th, 1946, Andre lived until January 27th, 1993. His life was cut short by the condition he had, called gigantism, which lead to him being of a huge size. He was 2.26 m tall (7 ft 5 in) and weighing 240 kg (520 lb). His debut in the ring was in 1963 and he retired from wrestling in 1992.
He started wrestling professionally when he was 17. He was quite successful, especially because of his sheer size. He started playing in the WWF in 1973 and until 1987 he was undefeated, with a huge streak of wins to his name. He also had a feud of sorts going on with Hulk Hogan, starting from 1980.
Andre also appeared in multiple movies, in the 70s and 80s for the most part. His debut was in the role of Sasquatch, part of a 70s TV series which was called The Six Million Dollar Man. A number of other TV series and movies had him as guest after that.
