Chief’s Fortune Slots

Chiefs-FortuneChief’s Fortune is the second title from Microgaming to come with a theme that focuses on Native Americans, and they did just a good job with this one as they did with the one called Chief’s Magic. It’s also a classic slot machine, but one that has a couple of decent features included as well, which makes it different from the other title.

The Chief doesn’t seem to have been a rich man, the fortune mentioned in the title bringing you only payouts of up to $2,000. There is a wild symbol and a bonus game inside, the latter being quite fun and unusual for a 3 reel title with 1 line.

Features of Chief’s Fortune

The game’s wild symbol is a feature that plenty of slot machines have, but the bonus game that can be triggered is not as common, so extra points to Microgaming for offering something new.

The first of the two features is the wild symbol, the image chosen for it being that of a Native American Chief, with the feather headband on his head. This symbol is not only the wild symbol, the one that you can count on to get an extra chance to form a combination, but also the top jackpot trigger, which in this case means 2,000 coins.

Chief’s Dilemma Bonus Game

The second feature is the bonus game, a feature which will get started by collecting magic arrows, symbols that don’t have to appear in a certain position. You just have to collect them, one by one, when they appear, so it can take as many rounds as your luck allows to trigger this particular bonus game.

Once the feature starts, you are shown the Chief, wearing only his underwear. You click on Spin, which will place four clothing items on him. The clothing items can be terribly mismatched, including boxer shorts, protection helmets and platform heels, among other things. It’s a riot to play, quite funny since they’re so clearly not clothes he is supposed to wear.

Betting options and jackpots

The use of 1 to 3 coins is allowed, but their denomination will stay fixed at $1, so $3 is the highest bet.

Considering the bets that are made, the top payout is not bad, worth 2,000 coins, or $2,000. You need to use all three coins to get that maximum amount though.

Design and symbols

The game’s design is one of the best things about it. The Chief is part of the paytable, along with the game logo, the 7 has some feathers attached, and then there are the classic Bar icons which don’t have decorations of any kind. The background view makes the game though, and it manages to make it look cool, with the image including a Native American village made out of tee pee tents, plus an arrow firing range closer by.

Symbols: Chief (2,000 coins, wild), Arrow (bonus), Chief’s Fortune Logo (600 coins), Red 7 (240 coins), Three Red Bars (120 coins), Two Red Bars (60 coins) and One Red Bar (15 coins).

Is It Worth Playing?

The graphics and the presence of an interesting bonus games, these are the two main attraction points, along with small wagers and the wild.
