Double Magic Slots

Double-MagicDouble Magic sounds like a good choice in theory, when you hear that it’s themed around magic and it’s a classic slot machine, but the developers from Microgaming didn’t manage to make a great title in this case. The magic in this game takes the form of some kind of lightning that appears in a star shaped symbol and in the background image. It sure doesn’t look like magic to me, and a name like Double Lightning would’ve been more appropriate.

3 reels are available in Double Magic, along with 1 win line, wilds and multipliers. It might sound like an exciting game when you put it like that, but it’s the same as many other slots, even the $8,000 jackpot being available in other slots like this one.

Features of Double Magic

Despite the fact that Double Magic is a 3 reel game, it does offer you a feature, and it’s a good one, even though it is not original at all. It’s a wild symbol, which has a 2x multiplier which it applies to any wins created with its assistance. You get double the usual prize when one wild gets involved, but with two of them you get four times as much money.

The wild symbol is a modern feature, one that has become quite popular in classic slot machines, while many others didn’t catch on. It can act as another symbol, so when it’s on a payline it can contribute to the formation of a combo, provided that the rest of the symbols are of the right kind (other wilds and/or matching regular icons).

With three wilds forming up their own combo, you get paid even better, the top jackpot of 1,600 coins being awarded this way.

Betting options and jackpots

You get to place a bet of up to $10 per round, using two coins of $5 each. The lowest denomination of the coin is $0.25, and you can use only one if you want to.

Use the $10 bet if you want that $8,000 jackpot, it’s the only way to get this much from the 1,600 coins of the top prize.

Design and symbols

The design is disappointing, mostly because the title promises you a world of magic, and you’re delivered a few lightning bolts instead. It’s all placed on a dark blue background, the same color that the star symbols get. The paytable is on the right, the reels on the left, with the logo underneath them.

Symbols: Star (1,600 coins, wild), Red 7 (200 coins), Three Bars (100 coins), Two Bars (50 coins), Cherries (40 coins) and One Bar (20 coins).

Is It Worth Playing?

It’s way too common a game for Microgaming, and the theme is one of the weakest ones I’ve seen. Choose another 3 reel game from this developer, they have tons more just like this one, but better looking.

This Double Magic slot is offered by all online casinos with Microgaming software, playable either in practice or in real money mode.
