The Gold Suitcase is the wild feature in Gold. Up to 100,000 coins can be won with its help (10,000x the line bet), if the wild manages to create its own combo of up to five symbols on the same active line. However, even the appearance of some random wilds will still be of use to you, provided that one of the lines it appeared on has the rest of the matching symbols needed to form a combo. If that is the case, the wild will act as the symbol that is missing, so that a win can be awarded.
As for the scatter symbol, the image used in its case is that of a Gold Record, with the BiG logo on it. While the wild has to appear on active lines, the scatter symbol has the ability to offer cash prizes by being in random locations on the reels. As long as you get 2 or more Gold Records, you get paid. The maximum prize is offered for five scattered Gold Records, being the equivalent of 100 times the wager.
Free Games Feature
The game has free spins to offer as well, 15 of them being awarded. There is a 3x multiplier, so you win triple the usual amount during these rounds that you don’t pay for. All in all, a great deal. The paytable mentions that up to 180 free spins can be won, so it’s possible to retrigger them 11 times total.
Betting options and jackpots
The betting round should allow pretty much anyone to play the game, even penny slot players. It starts at only $0.01, which would be enough to cover one line with the smallest coin available, and it goes up to $50, which covers 20 lines with 5 coins of $0.50 for each one.
You’re getting 10,000 times what the line bet was, so you can take up to 50,000 coins from it, or $25,000.
Design and symbols
As I’ve said, the design in Gold is over the top, using a huge quantity of the metal in every single element of the design. There is gold used in the logo area, the background picture is made out of gold bricks with bands of yellow led lights between them, the betting options are yellow, and 90% of the symbols use this color quite heavily. Overall, it’s a game I found difficult to enjoy, without a decent balance when it came to the colors that were used.

The luxury theme is normally quite attractive, but it feels like Microgaming overdid it in this case. It doesn’t even make you feel like you’re getting rich if you win the jackpot, since $25,000 is considered an average top payout.
