Rainbow’s End Slots

Rainbows-EndThe Irish inspired slot machine is not exactly new, plenty of developers have chosen this particular theme for their slots. Rainbow’s End is exactly that kind of slot machine, this time coming from Microgaming. It’s not even the only slot from this developer to come with this particular topic. Looking at the design, the features and the top payouts, the game doesn’t appear to stand out in a major way, but you can read all about it and what it offers in the review below.

Rainbow’s End will offer good prizes, but at $25,000 I wouldn’t say they’re at the level of a treasure you’d find in a pot of gold. The game has on its 5 reels a total of 25 lines. As features, the game offers free spins, multipliers, scatters and expanding wilds.

Features of Rainbow’s End

Probably aware of how much competition there is out there already, Rainbow’s End offers a little bit of everything feature wise, so you will have expanding wild symbols, scatter symbols and free spins with 2x multipliers.

While the developers wisely decided to use expanding wilds in the game, they only included them on the second and the fourth reels, so you’re not going to be forming full combinations out of them. However, whenever they appear, they take into consideration the symbols found on the reels, and if they can help them create a combo by being a full reel wild, they will expand and cover all the positions. The scattered Leprechaun doesn’t benefit from this power of the wild.

With the Leprechaun used as the scatter symbol, you’re going to discover that you will get paid whenever at least two of these symbols are on the game’s reels. What I love about scatters is that they don’t need paylines to arrange themselves on, instead being enough that a certain number of them is present. Payouts of 1x to 100x the triggering wager are offered for two to five Leprechauns.

Free Games Feature

The game offers free spins, like many other slots, and their wins will all be doubled for the duration of this feature. 3 to 5 scattered Leprechauns will be required to get the 15 free spins started. This is a feature that can be retriggered.

Betting options and jackpots

With a total of 25 lines, the game uses as many as 500 coins for a single round’s bet. Each payline accepts between 0 and 20 coins, and obviously you need at least 1 per line to activate it. These coins have a range of $0.01 to $0.25, so when all 20 are selected you wager $5 per line. The total for all the lines reaches $125.

The right combination of symbols will reward you with up to 100,000 coins, so you can expect up to $25,000 cash from the game’s best prizes.

Design and symbols

Considering how many slot machines already exist out there with this kind of theme and design, Rainbow’s End doesn’t really make an effort to do things differently. It has a meadow that has a lot of toadstools growing on it, a rainbow in the distance and a set of reels which are surrounded by clovers. The symbols are half playing cards, half Irish inspired things like clovers, toadstools, leprechauns, pots of gold and so on.

Symbols: Pot of Gold (wild), Leprechaun (100x triggering wager, scatter), Rainbow (5,000x), Clover (2,000x), Gold Horseshoe (1,000x), Toadstools (500x), Ace (250x), King (250x), Queen (150x), Jack (150x), 10 (100x) and 9 (100x).

Is It Worth Playing?

You’re not going to find a game that is too different from the many others that have Irish themes. It doesn’t pay more than the others, doesn’t have significantly better features and the graphics are good, but not outstanding. Overall, it’s a decent game, but I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it.

The Rainbow’s End slot machine is offered through the Microgaming platform, so if you want to play it for real or just to practice, look out for casinos that use it.
