Silent Run Slots

Silent-RunSilent Run was created by Net Entertainment. The name of the game refers to submarines, the action revolving around them and their actions during World War II, when they had to run as silent as possible in order not to be detected. The entire slot has a retro design which I for one found quite appealing. There are all sorts of weapons that would either be deployed by submarines, or would be used by surface ships to try and neutralize these silent killers. The submarines were a big part of War World 2 and of the efforts of the Nazi regime in trying to stop the Allied convoys from crossing the Atlantic Ocean. A slot machine that pays tribute to these war machines seems to be a great choice.

The 5 reels that are present in Silent Run will get 25 active paylines during each spin. The wild symbol and the bonus game included inside are the only two types of features offered. As for its prizes, they reach a maximum value of $5,000.

Features of Silent Run

There aren’t that many conventional features in Silent Run, but you will find the wild symbol inside, plus a very interesting bonus game that is directly related to the war the submarines fought.

Two types of wilds exist, one a regular kind, the other an Echo Wild. The regular wild is your typical feature that you can count on to substitute for other icons. It’s not going to pay you more money while doing so, it will still not take the place of another type of wild or a bonus symbol, but it’s going to be profitable and helpful anyway.

Second, we have the Echo Wild. This symbol can appear on the 3rd reel, the one in the middle. When it shows up, the Echo Wild sends three signals through the sonar, trying to discover any hidden wilds that might be hiding. It will uncover them, giving you multiple chances to form a paying combo.

Echo Bonus Feature

This is the slot’s only bonus game, but fans of the submarines will find it an interesting choice. It all starts with the appearance of a green Sonar symbol. Its appearance needs to be on the 3rd reel. If that happens, a bonus game starts up. The Sonar icon sends a total of three signals, uncovering two to five torpedoes among the nearby symbols.

The bonus game starts next, with the number of found torpedoes being the one to decide how many times you can fire at the enemy ships. You pick your targets, you take aim and then you fire the torpedo and you find out how much you’ve won. The wins will be different from one ship to the next. Once you’ve finished all the torpedoes you started the feature with, you will be returned to the reels, a little bit richer than when you started it.

Betting options and jackpots

The betting system in use here will require for all the paylines to be active when the spin is made, so there are at least 25 coins used at all times. The most you can bet is 250 coins, if you decide to select 10 coins for each line. There is also the coin’s denomination to consider, as it can change the value of the bet quite easily, going from $0.01 to $0.50. The lowest wager is $0.25, while the biggest one is at $125.

A 10,000 coins top prize can be awarded by the right symbols forming a combination, in cash this translating into up to $5,000.

Design and symbols

I’ve mentioned the retro design of the slot before, but it’s worth mentioning again. It’s the kind of retro look that makes the ships and submarines of WW II look cool and not quite real. Brushed metal surrounds the reels and is used for some of the buttons. The background image is filled with anti-ship mines, deployed just a few meters under the ocean’s surface.

Symbols: Red Light (wild), Red Echo Wild (wild), Green Echo Bonus (bonus), Submarine (1,000x), Battleship (750x), Torpedoes (500x), Naval Mines (350x), Depth Charges (250x), Ace (150x), King (100x), Queen (75x), Jack (60x) and Ten (60x).

Is It Worth Playing?

There are a few different things that make this slot an interesting choice. The design and its retro feel are part of its charm, but the sonar based features also contribute here, especially since nobody else uses them.

Silent Run can be found at any Net Entertainment casino, where you get a chance to play it for real money or in free mode.
