Starburst Slots

StarburstStarburst might give you the impression that it’s a space themed slot machine, but the design seems mostly to be concerned with shiny and valuable gems of different colors, though you do get a background filled with stars behind the reels, plus a gorgeous dark red planet in one of the corners. Net Entertainment is the developer that created this game, which seems to have a bit of a classic influence, especially if you take a look at what the symbols are showing you, and you ignore how gorgeous they are.

A rather simple game, despite its modern appearance, Starburst presents you with the typical 5 reels, but with only 10 paylines on them. A wild symbol seems to be the only major feature you can use. As for the top prize, its value tops out at $2,500.

Features of Starburst

The game is rather simple, without too many flashy features to keep you busy. You do get the Win Both Ways feature, plus the Starburst Wild, which is interesting enough on its own.

Win Both Ways is an ability that gives you winning combinations that can start from both sides of the game. In a normal slot, the combination is formed starting from the leftmost reel, but here you can also form them by starting from the rightmost reel. You still need the symbols to appear on consecutive reels to form any kind of combo, but this feature gives you a better chance of getting paid during each round.

A Starburst Wild will appear on the reels from the middle (2nd, 3rd and 4th). From those positions, whenever it appears, the Starburst Wild expands and covers the reel it is on, after which you get one free re-spin. You can get up to three re-spins, if you manage to trigger additional Starburst Wilds during each re-spin. These expanded wilds will stay in place until the re-spins are over. A wild symbol has the ability to take the place of another regular symbol, if it’s needed in order to form a new combination.

Betting options and jackpots

Bets in Starburst vary between $0.01 and $100. The largest bet is composed of 100 coins, with 10 used for each bet line, while their denomination is at the maximum of $1. The smallest line bet is the equivalent of one coin, while the denomination can be as small as $0.01.

The 2,500 coins offered by the top jackpot will multiply the line bet by 250x, so it matters how much you invest during each round. The cash value is a maximum of $2,500.

Design and symbols

It’s not a terribly advanced slot machine, but it’s a modern one, with great looking symbols and background images. You will notice a gorgeous view of the Universe in the background, while on the reels you will find either modern versions of classic symbols (red 7 and the Bar icon) or gems of different colors. Add to that the low number of features, and you get a slot machine that is perfect for someone that wants to make the move to modern slot machines, leaving behind the dated classic slots.

Symbols: Star (wild), Bar (250x), Red 7 (120x), Yellow Gem (60x), Green Gem (50x), Orange Gem (40x), Blue Gem (25x) and Purple Gem (25x).

Is It Worth Playing?

It’s not the kind of slot machine that will keep you busy for hours, but it can be an alternative to a classic slot machine, especially since it doesn’t rely on features too much.

You will find Starburst at any online casino which chooses to use software from Net Entertainment, playable either for free or for real money.
