Forest of Wonders Slots

Forest-of-WondersForest of Wonders draws direct inspiration from Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, the famous novel written by Lewis Caroll. Written in the 19th century, this novel is part of the fantasy genre and it has been a popular title both among children and adults ever since. It starts with the fall of Alice through the rabbit hole, taking her to a fantasy land where all sorts of weird characters exist. Forest of Wonders was created by Playtech and it takes many of those characters from the novel and uses them for its own symbols.

Sporting 5 reels and 25 bet lines, Forest of Wonders was created by the guys from Playtech. It has a couple of cool features, the bonus game being a favorite, though the wild and the scatter also contribute to the slot. The prizes are the slot’s own payout of up to $50,000, or the Dollar Ball progressive jackpot.

Features of Forest of Wonders

In case the exciting graphics are not enough for you, the features are also well made and a pleasure to experience. You get the bonus game, plus free spins, scatter symbols and wilds, all in one place.

The Wild is your typical substituting symbol, which also gives away the biggest jackpot available in the game. Its payouts go from 10x to 5,000x, depending on how many of these symbols are on an active payline and in consecutive order, like any regular symbol. Obviously, it is also the symbol that substitutes for others, just like it does in thousands of other slots. It’s a basic wild, not doing anything more than what you usually expect from this symbol.

Free Games Feature

The trigger for the free spins is the usual scatter, in this case the symbol with the rabbit. It doesn’t have its own prizes to give away, like it does in so many other slots, but it does get you into the free spins when you have three of them in random positions during the same spin. You pick one of these scatter symbols, and it will tell you how many spins you get for free (5, 10 or 15).

Bonus Game

While it has to appear on the same line and form combinations with consecutive symbols, the bonus symbol will not give you regular prizes, instead being the one that gets you into the bonus game. It’s a relatively easy bonus game, one where you have to pick three mushrooms, which will reveal the prizes hidden underneath. The bonus game’s setting is right in the middle of the beautiful forest, a very nice image being used for it.

Betting options and jackpots

Bets placed on the 25 lines of the game will use a minimum of 1 coin per line, with the maximum being 10. A total of 250 coins are selected for the maximum bet, with denominations being at $1 in that case, for a total value of $250. Bets can be as low as $0.01 though, which is the smallest denomination possible.

The wild’s top prize is the one you want to go after, as it will give you 5,000x the line wager, or up to $50,000. The Dollar Ball feature can also be activated, for a chance at a progressive jackpot, but you have to pay extra for that chance.

Design and symbols

The theme and its focus on Alice and on the forest of wonders promises to make this game a fun experience, as you will learn yourself once it loads. It’s a gorgeous design, with symbols that would belong in a luxury edition of this famous book. It’s one of the few slot machines where playing cards actually belong, as they were in the book as well. The forest is not that visible, as the reels take a big part of the screen, but it’s not a huge loss since everything related to the symbols is extremely well made.

Symbols: Mole (wild, 5,000x), Toadstools (bonus), White Rabbit (scatter, 50x the triggering bet), Brown Rabbit (200x), Caterpillar (150x), Cheshire Cat (150x), Mad Hatter (100x), Ace (75x), King (75x), Queen (50x), Jack (50x) and Ten (50x).

Is It Worth Playing?

It’s one of the best games I’ve seen created by Playtech, at least if you look only at the design and the experience it offers. For a fan of the work done by Lewis Caroll, this is a must play title.

You will find Forest of Wonders at any online casino which chooses to use software from Playtech, playable either for free or for real money.
