Wild Spirit Slots

Wild-SpiritIn Wild Spirit, Playtech has chosen to use the old recipe with the Native American theme, with the focus being on the wild animal spirits and on the proud people that have this heritage. Just like the Wild West theme is popular, the ones based on tribal motifs also seem to be a favorite for many. It’s not original in any significant way, but it can still pull off a decent experience for the player that goes for it. If you’re at a Playtech casino and this is the only Native American slot you find there, know that it’s going to be at least OK. More on that below though.

You get up to 20 active lines each spin of the 5 reels that this game has, with the top jackpot being worth up to $250,000. You get a bunch of interesting features along the way, among them being scatter symbols, multipliers, free spins, bonus games and wilds.

Features of Wild Spirit

The game doesn’t bring anything new, but you’re going to discover a solid mix of features in it, favorites of mine being the free spins and their huge multipliers, along with the scatter symbols and the wild.

The White Horse wild symbol gets the standard two roles that this feature often has in slot machines. You can use it to form new combinations thanks to its substitution powers, though if it comes on the same payline with multiple symbols it will form its own combinations as well. The ideal situation is when you get an entire active payline filled with White Horse wilds, as that will be the trigger for the slot’s best prize, a 5,000x jackpot. As a wild, it’s a basic feature that substitutes for regular symbols and does nothing about the special features.

The Indian Girl is a popular image in Native American slot machines, often used in one of the main roles. This is the case here as well, as she is used for the role of the scatter symbol. This particular scatter will do only one thing for you, it will get you a prize that is worth about 100x the slot’s total bet. The value of the prize actually varies based on how many scatters are in the game, three to five symbols being the range within which the prizes are given.

Bonus Game

The Indian Chief is one of my favorite symbols and feature triggers ever. It is a scatter symbol that triggers a bonus game, whenever the 1st and 5th reels hold it at the same time.

First, you get a prize worth 5 times the bet. Next, you get a bonus game where you can walk away with up to 27 free spins and with multipliers that go up to an impressive 8x. In this bonus game you pick various icons and you have to get good spirits from them, which will reward you with the free spins and multipliers. Getting evil spirits will end the bonus game and the free spins will start.

You can retrigger an additional 8 free spins, by getting the same two Indian Chief scatters on the two reels where it can appear.

Betting options and jackpots

The full betting range in use here is between $0.01 and $1,000. This is possible because you can change everything about the bet, from the number of active paylines, to the denomination of individual coins or how many of them should be used. Up to 10 coins are selected for each bet line, the value going up to $5 for each one.

A 5,000x top jackpot is a good prize to go after in this case, though some games do even better. It means up to $250,000 cash.

Design and symbols

The Native American theme is obvious to anyone that looks at the game, as it was used with pretty much the same type of symbols in the past. There are the Chief and the Girl, dressed in traditional clothing and with feathers in their hair, plus you have majestic birds and wild white horses. Add to this playing cards made out of wood and with handkerchiefs and drawings on them, and you get a pretty good idea of what you’re getting yourself into. Overall, it’s a decent game, but it doesn’t try to offer something different, being quite similar to its competitors graphics wise.

Symbols: White Horse (wild, 5,000x), Indian Chief (bonus), Indian Girl (scatter, 100x the round’s total bet), Bald Eagle (500x), Drums (300x), Ace (200x), King (100x), Queen (100x), Jack (100x) and 9 (100x).

Is It Worth Playing?

It’s one of the better paying Native American themed slots, so I would say give it a shot if you enjoy this kind of game. It has good enough features for a modern slot machine, so it passes the grade in that category as well.

Wild Spirit can be found at any Playtech casino, where you get a chance to play it for real money or in free mode.
