Wolverine Slots

WolverineWolverine is a Playtech title, a slot machine with a theme which is inspired by a Marvel Comics superhero with the same name. Wolverine is a member of the X-Men team, a mutant which can regenerate very fast, has keen senses and is very strong. The game’s theme is a good one, but I’m not impressed with the way it was implemented. The features and the Marvel progressive jackpots might be good enough to make you play it anyway though.

A 25 bet line slot machine, Wolverine has among its symbols some with scatter or stacked wild roles, and which can trigger re-spins and free spins. A Marvel progressive jackpot can be won, while fixed payouts offer up to $15,000.

Features of Wolverine

Wolverine’s list of features includes free spins, scatter symbols, stacked wilds and even a re-spin.

The Wolverine icon is a stacked symbol which has different images for you depending on the number of visible icons. One to three Wolverine symbols can appear at the same time on a reel. Wilds are capable of substituting for most symbols, but not for the three scatters. If wilds manage to create their own combinations, they pay as much as 3,000x.

A symbol with the Wolverine Logo is the first of the scatters that we’ll talk about. This symbol will pay between 5x and 100x the wager value, depending on how many scattered symbols you’ve got to appear.

Adamantium Free Games

The second scatter symbol has an Adamantium Injection image on it. The requirement is for 3+ scatter symbols of this type to appear, and if that happens you get 12 Adamantium free games. You will notice the Adamantium tank on the left side, which shows you how many free spins are left. You can have up to 12 levels worth of Adamantium in the tank.

Three to five scatter symbols will fill up the tank with 4 to 12 levels. Each new Injection scatter you get increases the level by 1.

Berserker Rage Feature

The third and final scatter that Wolverine offers has the Berserker Rage Logo on it. It appears on the 5th reel, and its simple appearance will be sufficient to trigger this feature. It does matter what the position is, as the effect will be a different one. You get one re-spin, where extra wild symbols are present on the reels.

If it appears in the top position, 2 to 4 wild symbols will be placed on the same row, from left to right and adjacently. With the middle position being occupied by this symbol, the effect is the appearance of 3 to 5 random wilds on the reels. The bottom positions give you two reels occupied by stacked wilds.

Betting options and jackpots

A line bet in Wolverine varies between $0.01 and $5. If you decide to activate all the lines of the slot, you can end up spending anywhere between $0.25 and $125 on a single round.

The game’s own prizes will give you up to 3,000 coins, with a value of $15,000 at best. The alternative would be one of the four Marvel jackpots, all of them of the progressive variety and being offered after a random spin.

Design and symbols

While you expect a very cool game when you hear about a Wolverine slot, and the features do give you that, the design is far from great. You see various Wolverine related images, you see poker cards made out of Adamantium and there is our hero as well, on the left side of the screen. The game has a bit of an industrial look. For a Marvel inspired game, this is far from impressive.

Wolverine-paytable

Symbols: Masked Wolverine (wild, 3,000 coins), Adamantium Syringe (scatter), Berserker Rage (scatter), Wolverine Logo (scatter, 100x bet), Wolverine (500 coins), Adamantium Claws (250 coins), DNA Strand (200 coins), Wolverine Tags (200 coins), Ace (150 coins), King (150 coins), Queen (150 coins), Jack (100 coins), 10 (100 coins) and 9 (100 coins).

Is It Worth Playing?

Wolverine will be an interesting game, especially if you’re actually a fan of the X-Men comics. It has all the usual prizes that Marvel slots offer, plus a lot of cool features.

Wolverine, an X-Men Superhero

This is one of the many superheroes from the Marvel universe. Wolverine is one of the X-Men, mutants with special powers. In the case of Wolverine, his superpower gives him extremely fast regeneration capabilities, making him almost invulnerable. He has an Adamantium skeleton which is the result of experiments done on him, and he can grow out of his hand a pair of claws made out of the same material. The first appearance of the Wolverine in a comic book was in 1974, in an issue of The Incredible Hulk.

Wolverine can be found at any Playtech casino, where you get a chance to play it for real money or in free mode.
