Flying Colors Slots

Flying-ColorsFlying Colors seems to be a game that gets World War I biplane fighters as inspiration. The design is a bit unusual, but a lot of fun to look at, with the quality of the graphics being easy to spot. Fighter planes got their own role in World War I, though people were still learning how to best use them back then. They could support the troops somewhat even back then, but they were truly invaluable because of their roles in reconnaissance.

On the 5 reels of Flying Colors you will discover up to 20 active lines. The game comes from Rival Gaming and it’s got some very interesting features, my favorite being the Can’t Lose free spins. Other features include a wild symbol, a bonus game and multipliers. Their best prize stops at $25,000, but it should be enough for most players.

Features of Flying Colors

Though the wild symbol and the bonus game are important, the one that really gets people’s attention is the Can’t Lose Free Spins, a name that has a lot of promise in it.

The Zeppelin is one of the flying machines that were still around in World War I, not quite great in times of war since they were vulnerable. In this case, it is the wild symbol and it is capable of giving you more winning lines as you keep playing, as long as it appears in the right place and the right time. It doesn’t always bring along a new win, but it’s always great to have it present. It’s especially true because you can win the top jackpot with its help, when five wilds arrange themselves on the same active line. The reward is 10,000 times more than you wagered per line.

Can’t Lose Free Spins

The Propeller symbol is a scatter symbol that needs to appear at least in three locations during the same spin, to get you the free spins. You can get 3, 4 or 5 scattered Propellers, and you will win 7, 14 or 25 free spins, respectively.

These free spins come with x2 multipliers, they have the first reel entirely wild and you are guaranteed a win from each spin.

Bonus Game

The Crimson Kaiser fighter plane, the red one, is a scatter symbol with a bonus game to trigger. At least three of them have to be on the screen, to get this bonus feature. The great thing about this feature is that you have to shoot down enemy fighters, while they’re trying to do the same to you. As a winner of this dog fight, you get a much better prize than if you lose it.

Betting options and jackpots

Wagers per line go from $0.01 to $2.50, the minimum being also the smallest denomination allowed for a coin, while the maximum uses 10 coins at the highest denomination, of $0.25. With all 20 lines selected, should you want to do that, you can bet up to $50 per round.

The 10,000x top prize offered in Flying Colors might go up to 100,000 coins, but the cash value is only going to reach $25,000, and that is only if you used a big wager.

Design and symbols

The theme is one of the things I enjoyed about this game. The fighter plane theme translates into a couple of different flying machines, plus a zeppelin that appears from time to time. The blue sky and a few clouds can be seen behind the reels, which are placed between borders that are support struts for an airplane’s wings. With the head of the pilot being a bit too large compared with the size of the plane, the graphics manage to be funny as well.

Symbols: Zeppelin (wild, 10,000x), Propeller (scatter), Crimson Kaiser (scatter), Pin-up Girl (1,000x), Green Plane (500x), Yellow Plane (300x), Ace (200x), King (150x), Queen (100x), Jack (75x), Ten (65x) and Nine (50x).

Is It Worth Playing?

It’s fun, it pays well, doesn’t ask for huge wagers and it has features that even guarantee you that you’re going to make money with them (the free spins). I’ve certainly enjoyed playing it, so I suggest you try it out as well.

The Flying Colors slot machine is offered through the Rival platform, so if you want to play it for real or just to practice, look out for casinos that use it.
