Travel Bug Slots

Travel-BugTravel Bug comes from Rival Gaming and it’s a game that is indeed about a traveling bug. It’s basically a travel themed slot machine where all the characters are bugs of different kinds, from snails, to spiders, and so on. It’s an interesting twist, with a design that is cartoon styled, so you get the feeling that you’re looking at an actual cartoon episode and it doesn’t feel quite as unreal.

Travel Bug’s 20 bet lines are placed on 5 reels, the game offering special symbols which include scatters, bonus and wild symbols, plus free spins. As for the biggest prize, it’s a jackpot of $12,500.

Features of Travel Bug

All the features mentioned in Travel Bug are normal for a game from Rival, giving you the bonus game, the wild symbol and the bonus feature with free spins that are triggered by scatters.

The Wild Bug symbol is the only one that can give you the slot’s biggest prize, of 5,000x, and at the same time it can also assist you with the formation of new combinations, as long as the symbol is located on a payline where its help is needed. A few things have to happen before the wild can assist, like its presence that has to be in the right spot on the line, or that the other symbols that are part of the combo have to match and be in the right locations already. That’s why you don’t get a prize every single time the wild appears, but it does happen often enough, especially since every symbol is on multiple lines. The scatter symbols are the only ones that don’t get the benefit of the wild’s help.

Can’t Lose Free Spins

The free spins get triggered when the Scatter Bugs appear in random locations, at least three times in the same round. If that happens, you get 10 free spins, called “Can’t Lose” by the developers.

These spins are made in such a way, that you get back a minimum of 10x the wager made from them, which is why they’re called “Can’t Lose”.

Travel the World Bonus Game

The Passport bonus symbol is another scatter, only its role is to trigger a bonus game. 3+ scattered Passports will activate the Travel the World bonus game. It’s the only themed feature of Travel Bug, and it should be more fun than the base game.

Betting options and jackpots

The betting system is the one you know already if you’re a frequent player for Rival’s slots. Their 20 line games use up to 10 coins for each line wager, with the maximum being 200 coins, or $50. The individual coins don’t go higher than $0.25, but the line bet will reach $2.50.

The most that the game will promise to give you is 5,000x the line bet, or about $12,500, and only if you used the maximum wager.

Design and symbols

While the idea of having insects all over the reels of the game isn’t terribly attractive, the slot is cute in its own way, especially since all of them are drawn in a cartoon style, and they’re enjoying themselves in their travels. A lot of light green is used here, mostly in the backgrounds, which combine various images that are travel related into a single picture. The symbols with the bugs are more on the yellow side, many of them enjoying the sun in one way or another.

Symbols: Wild Bug (5,000x), Scatter Bug (bonus), Passport (bonus), Spider (500x), Train (400x), Purple Bug (300x), Blue Bug (350x), Ladybug (150x), Caterpillar (100x), Snail (100x), Guitar Bug (65x) and Airplane (65x).

Is It Worth Playing?

It’s a cute travel themed slot, perhaps more in the cute category than most of its competitors, so if you love to explore and you don’t mind all the bugs that are in this game, you should go for it.
