Wooden Boy Slots

Wooden-BoyWooden Boy’s theme is based on an old children’s story, which I’m sure you’ve heard yourself as a kid, or at least you’ve seen the Disney animation movie. I’m talking about the most famous wooden boy, Pinocchio. His biggest wish was to become a real human boy, and all his adventures came from that desire and from his will to explore the world. The action behind the reels takes place inside Gepetto’s house, but on the reels you will find the symbols that have a lot to do with Pinocchio’s adventures in the real world.

Besides being probably the only slot machine with a Pinocchio theme, Wooden Boy is a pretty regular title in every other way. It has the standard set of 5 reels, hosting a total of 20 win lines on them. The prizes don’t seem that impressive, as the game gives you only up to $5,000 directly, or more than that through the progressive jackpot. You’re not going to miss any of the great features, as it provides you with both symbols (scatter symbols and wilds) and bonus rounds with free games and multipliers.

Features of Wooden Boy

You are not going to find any impressive features or bonus games that you don’t expect in this title. For the most part, it’s actually an average slot machine, but at least it tries to offer you everything you could want from it.

Wooden Boy is the symbol that shows us Pinocchio, taking the role of a wild in the game and it does that as a symbol that expands and covers the three positions of the reel it appears on. As usual, its role is to substitute for other symbols, if by doing so it can take part in a new paying combo, from its current position in the game. It will not be able to replace a scatter symbol, but in every other case it should work as advertised.

The Fairy acts as the symbol that the wild can’t substitute for, the scatter. This symbol has its own prizes to offer, but the real advantage it brings to the table is its ability to trigger the free games round. Its cash prizes can be as high as 100 times the bet value, or as low as 5x (depending on how many scatters you have present, with the smallest prize offered for three symbols, while the largest one is given for five).

Free Games Feature

A Fairy symbol, when it appears a minimum of three times during the same spin, will be responsible for the free games feature starting up. The minimum number of scatters will get you 5 spins, with each additional symbol bringing an extra 5 along (15 spins for five scatters). The difference from the base game is that the wild symbol contributes with a x3 multiplier during the free spins.

You have the option to retrigger the free games, with the same number of scatter symbols (3+).

Betting options and jackpots

This is no cheap game to play, despite its rather low top prizes. You would have to invest $5 per line, for a total of $100 per spin, if you wanted to max out the bet options. You’re not obligated to do so though, with coin denominations getting as low as $0.01 if needed.

The payouts are multiples of the line wager for the most part, the best one giving you 1,000x as a reward. That would mean up to $5,000 made available to the player. The progressive jackpot can give you an even better prize, if you’re lucky enough to get it.

Design and symbols

Considering the theme, you would expect the design of this game to be heavily reliant on wood, and you’d be right to think so. You will discover that most elements in the game are made out of wood, and those that are not are characters that were part of Pinocchio’s adventures. The reels are place inside the house of Pinocchio’s creator, the woodworker called Gepetto. You can see other works of his there, like a wooden horse, but there are also the tools that he used to make the wooden boy. It’s a pleasant design, capable of putting you inside the story.

Symbols: Wooden Boy (wild), Fairy (scatter, 100x the bet), Cuckoo Clock (1,000x), Fox (500x), Whale (250x), Books (250x), Ace (100x), King (100x), Queen (25x), Jack (25x), 10 (25x) and 9 (25x).

Is It Worth Playing?

It’s probably the only slot machine with a theme based on Pinocchio’s adventures, so it has something unique to offer its players. It doesn’t extend to its prizes and features unfortunately, but it’s a perfectly decent slot to play.

This Wooden Boy slot is offered by all online casinos with RTG software, playable either in practice or in real money mode.
