Hearts of Venice Slots

Hearts-of-VeniceIf you’re the romantic type, Hearts of Venice should be right up your alley. Designed by WMS, the game is themed around one of the more romantic cities in the world, Italy’s Venice. While the features are largely the same as in the other WMS titles, the design rises up to the occasion, bringing you only appropriately themed and styled symbols, with all sorts of things from the city. This includes the gondola, the bridges that go over the canals, flowers and so on.

You’re going to get 5 reels and up to 50 paylines if you’re playing this slot, along with respins, scatters, free spins, random symbols and wilds. The top payout is valued at $1,000.

Features of Hearts of Venice

The options that Hearts of Venice puts forward include the ever popular wild, the bonus random Heart, the Couple scatter and the resulting free spins that it brings along.

First of all, I’d say that the wild has one of the main roles in this slot, even though it doesn’t offer the top jackpot, like it would in other slot machines. It’s still the symbol that will make the game much more profitable as you keep playing, being the one that substitutes for others. It’s no Superman symbol, so don’t expect to do it all. You still need the luck on your side, to bring the wild in exactly the right position to be able to help. Wilds also appear only on four reels, the ones from the 2nd to the 5th.

Heart Feature

Get the Heart icon to appear, and you will find that it will reveal another symbol, chosen at random, but not from among the feature icons.

Free Games Feature

With the Couple scatter, you’re getting a chance at triggering free spins. This symbol is found only on the first three reels, and all of them need to have it before you can get the 10 free spins of the game.

Free games come with extra wilds and Heart bonus icons. You can retrigger the feature, as long as 3 scatters are once again present in the same round.

Respin Feature

To get the respin, you first need the entire 1st reel to be occupied by Heart icons. These will lock and stay there for the next two respins, while the other four reels spin. If there are any wilds or hearts during the respins, they lock in place as well. Once the feature is over, the hearts all turn into the same random symbol. The sticky wilds and the rest of the symbols will form whatever combinations they can at that point.

Betting options and jackpots

The slot has an unusual betting system. You only need 25 coins to cover 50 paylines, but then you also have to use an extra 15 coins to activate the feature bet and its extras. The total is 40 coins, with individual values of up to $5, and with the maximum wager being $200.

If you happen to get the best payout it offers, you’re only going to see 200 coins out of it, with a value of up to $1,000.

Design and symbols

While it’s not a very modern look that it brings you, the game is certainly elegant and pleasant to look at. There is the city of Venice visible at the top, right behind the logo, with the reels taking over most of the screen. There are only themed symbols, with white and purple reels which seem to simulate the look of the water.

Symbols: Game Logo (wild), Heart (bonus), Couple (scatter), Lady (200 coins), Gondolier (150 coins), Griffin Statue (150 coins), Bridge (150 coins), Gondola (150 coins), Street Light (150 coins), Red Rose (100 coins), Wooden Horse (100 coins), Posts (100 coins) and Hat (100 coins).

Is It Worth Playing?

It’s one of the few romantic options in the collection offered by WMS, and you can expect from it some quality graphics (albeit rather old ones) and the features that most slots of theirs have to give players. The prizes are on the low side, but a lot of paylines are used.

You will find Hearts of Venice at any online casino which chooses to use software from WMS, playable either for free or for real money.
